I am a retired disabled marine and myself and my two young daughters and my service dog stayed here. Firstly I want to say we have stayed in several rv parks in the last year exploring our country and NEVER have we been treated like this. I believe they need new camp hosts because cleaning and basic maintenance seems to be a problem that they don't want to deal with, and they don't really like you using the shower or laundry. Unfortunately an injury forced us to stay as i was unable to tow. We would have happily left sooner if it were at all possible. I believe some of these reviews were written by Linda herself. And the advertised prices were not what we were charged! We were charged $720, for the 4 weeks in total we had to stay. Upon arrival I was told my service dog was not allowed in the bathrooms,in the laundry room, we were lectured about where we can and cant take my service dog to go to the bathroom and if any was found we would be kicked out immediately. I was lectured yes lectured as if I were a child not a veteran entitled to be here. -note: we ALWAYS clean up after our dog and to be honest my dog poops bigger than some of the dogs here so his poop would be very telling where it came from. We were told not very nicely that they found poop and of course they came straight to us. I informed her that she was wrong and that we take care of our pet I told her shes got the wrong dog-as I said my dog poops bigger than these dogs so she just wanted to harass us. If you camp here be ready to be watched like a hawk. She didn't like my childrens boogie boards that they were sliding down the hill on. She came the first time to tell us that they are going to mow and everything (2 boogie boards) had to be picked up. So of course we picked up and stowed the boards under the rig. Low and behold no mowers. So my girls were playing again and she came to tell us once again that we couldn't have anything outside or on our table, we were made to bring in towels that were drying from the girls swimming. So I wanted to know who these rules applied to and low and behold Linda and her husband had things out all night as well as other rvers. I was lectured numerous times about the laundry room (we didn't even bother to use it-it just wasn't worth the hassle of listening to her again), and that if they find any dog hair they will shut it down. That's fine and well but I know she doesn't lecture the other campers like this. She runs this rv park as if it is her own little kingdom, we actually had to go off base to do laundry because if I had to hear another lecture I think her feelings were going to be hurt. The ONLY thing good I have to say about this park is that it was centrally located in okc. I don't know if she doesn't care for single mothers, children, or service dogs but she had a bee in her bonnet and it was a horrible stay. We will NEVER stay here again and I will make sure to tell all my fellow brothers and sisters in service that you won't find peace here. I would suggest finding a new camp host to make this a true FAM CAMP.

NEW 24/7 GATE...I've being going to Tinker past 3 years in the summer to visit our daughter who's husband is station here. Just want to mention that the gate hours have change. The gate on SE 59th St is day hours only and if they have the serpentine poles out then you'll need to go through the truck gate which a lot of times there's a lot of trucks going through inspection so you may wait a bit. There is a new gate 24/7 south of the base. They do have a large vehicle entrance there. I believe it's call Piazzo Gate. To get there take I-240 which is south of Tinker. Take exit 11 Douglas Blvd and go north. Turn left on SE 74th St. When you get to SE Midwest Blvd turn right and you'll be going into the gate just stay to the right lane. Once in the gate just follow the road and signs that say BX, Commissary, Medical Facility. The road will whine through a number turns. You'll pass the shoppette and gas station then the FamCamp entrance will be to the right.

Great little campground. Small spaces, but great value at $20/night with full hookups. We picked up 25+ TV channels over the air. The location is easy to access from the Gott gate. No reservations accepted and we were advised to call an hour out to confirm site availability. Restrooms continue to be closed; however, laundry facilities were available. The campground is adjacent to small reservoirs and plenty of walking trails. No dog parks on base. Trails provided plenty of walking exercise for our two pups. Dumpsters are conveniently located at the rear of the campground. The base has many amenities and we enjoyed the proximity to OKC sites of interest including the Oklahoma City National Memorial and the Land Run Monument.

We spent a few weeks in the park while dealing with the OKC VA. Very few trees and the park was HOT in the summer. WiFi was inadequate to several of the sites…stay close to the bathhouse and you can get a decent wifi signal. The slots are close together and parking is at a premium. Make sure you have a Ground Guide while driving through and parking your RV. We had an issue with our power and they called in the Civil Engineers to take a look. Response was quick within 2 days. However, I was very upset that the maintenance TURNED OFF my power without 1st coming to the door. The AC was running and our car was parked out front. But I had to move to another site since the power was a long term issue. Also, they have a trailer used as the office, but it's locked up except when Linda is checking people in. It would be nice to have this trailer open as a ClubHouse…it does have a TV and only the Camp Host has access. While the maximum stay is 6 months, if you are nice to the Camp Host…it appears this is "negotiable".

Entrance gate not easy to find (off exit 9 on Interstate 40). The Camp Hostess was extremely helpful and friendly. FamCamp is super clean, including bathrooms and laundry. The Express/Gas Station located adjacent to the camp is closed on weekends and holidays. Highly recommend this FamCamp.

We had a very nice stay at the Tinker FAMCAMP: the host, Linda, was very helpful and welcoming. We did experience a "weather scare" with a tornado watch/golf ball sized hail alarm one evening: it was very comforting to know that there was a solid "tornado resistant" structure in case we needed it!

To cramped spaces are to close together and patron vehicles are parked in roads. To me this place is a hazard and a serious site survey needs to be accomplished by the base fire Marshall. I don't know how it is receiving such high reviews, unless it is the camp host writing them!

I had a great experience, overall. Camp host Linda was accommodating, friendly, and always available. They kept the area clean and $20 per night was reasonable. I docked the amenities/facilities 1 star because it’s very tight spacing and there’s no WiFi. But the laundry is only 50 cents each to wash and dry. I definitely recommend going if you’re heading through OKC.

Camp host trying to park my husband. Too many cooks as they say. Finally got in to very tight quarters. $20 per night and no overflow according to Linda. It was ok.

We LOVE Tinker AFB FamCamp in Oklahoma City. OK City is a place we return to every few years because attractions, restaurants and theaters are close by and it's an extremely nice FamCamp. The couple who manages the park obviously like what they do because they take pride in keeping the place neat and clean for guests. There is a small fishing pond on the property, it looks like newly planted trees along the edge of the pond, very clean restrooms and laundry facilities. The spaces are a bit close together but we never mind since we are always out exploring the area.
Some folks have said in reviews that the host is too stringent but WE reap the benefits. If you like immaculate facilities, easy on and off freeway access, lots of things to see and do in the area, We highly recommend this facility. We will definitely return again.

Very clean and well taken care of. Bathrooms and showers were free and the best I have seen at a campground. The camp host was great and walked down to out site to show us where it was and where to park. Parking is the big drawback. Each site has assigned parking and some are right next to the camp site and others, like mine are across the road and down from the camp site. But we were directly across from the pond and fishing pier. It looks like they stock some quality fish in the pond but between the state licensing requirements and on base requirements to fish, it isn't worth it for a short stay. I didn't see anyone fishing while we were there. When you come in the gate, you take an immediate right. The camp is on your left not far down. Look for the campers and pond. If you get to the gas station, you went too far. No fire rings for camp fires. I miss that but after staying on three military base campgrounds over our ten day trip, it looks like that is the rule rather than the exception. We stayed one night on our way from Wisconsin to Texas.

First off, PLEASE enter through Gott Gate! Any other gate and you will get stuck. The FamCamp has a combination Camp Host/Office Worker who is friendly and always available. The laundry room (3 washers, 3 dryers) is clean and cooled. There is even an ice machine in there! The bathrooms are useable. In the Men's room, there is only one toilet, one urinal, and 2 shower stalls. Each pad is paved with a dedicated parking spot. Some of the pads are on the slim side and some are huge. Since they don't take reservations, luck is involved. There are plenty of shade trees, a pond with fish, a walking/biking path, and a nearby shoppette gas station with a Domino's pizza. This was a great stop!

Great Fam Camp. Although it is small in size, the hosts make every effort to keep everything in top condition and their efforts are commendable. There is no club house to gather in and all sites are back in (and the first row is very tight). The WIFI is slow and sometimes spotty. Our own air card was much faster so we just used it. Retirees can eat in the dining facility on Fridays and holidays. The club has free food on Friday nights for club card members, (just wings and shrimp with a relish tray when we were there). But there is plenty. The truck gate is where RV's must enter, and during the week it can be a bit of a long line waiting for inspections. (RV's are NOT inspected, but must pass thru the same gate so you have to wait in line like the big rigs). Laundry and showers were nice and clean. Three washers and dryes are kept very busy, but their costs are reasonable. I understand that there are plans to add either some pull thru's or put in elect for the overflow area, but nothing firm.

Park is very clean and well groomed. Spaces are difficult to back into unless you are experienced RVer. While the park itself was exceptional, found the manager to be on the rude side. My wife had to listen to a lengthy lecture about us parking a quarter inch over a white line. Upset her so much, that we left promptly. Great park, but manager could use some sensitivity training.

We have stayed at many many Famcamps across the country and have enjoyed every location. Not so much this one. We will NEVER stay here again. If need be, we will find a location out in town. Linda, the Nazi camp hostess, is never off-duty. She stated that she hasn't had a day off since January 2013 and it shows. Perhaps she needs some help or replaced. My husband is a retired combat veteran and I am a combat veteran. I find the camp hostess' behavior to be rude, judgmental, medaling, and very demeaning. We've never seen anything like it. The facility itself is clean and convenient, albeit cramped and not designed for larger RV's and campers. There is a lovely pond and trails to walk on, but it's amazing how one person can make it such an ugly place.

I told the hostess I was leaving early and wanted a space that I could get out without disturbing anyone, she put me in space 6 which was cramped, and if the person in the space next to me had been home, I could not have left early as I had planned. After she had placed me in space 6, I saw it was very cramped and asked for another space, she refused, She gave me the impression, that the campground belonged to her, and not to the service members. There were plenty of spaces for my request.

We love this park and have stayed here often. The only problem is they do not mow the grass around the pond or the RV spaces. It is really hard to clean up after your pet when the grass is so high you can't see what you are trying to pick up. We usually stay during the fall or spring and this has been our first summer stay.

This is our second stay at this FamCamp. Camp host Linda was professional, friendly, and assisted in providing instructions on how to get to the campground from OK City. Campground and facilities are very well maintained. Although the sites are tight; $20 for water and electricity is a very reasonable fee. We stayed one night in a 30 ft. Winnebago Vista LX with no tow. Highly recommend for a short stay.

Back again and Bill and Sharon are still the best!! $.50 washers and $.50 dryers that get clothes DRY first time are a real plus. WiFi isn't available at all sites but works great vicinity laundry room. The proximity to I40 and I240 make it an ideal RON while the convenience of the exchange and commissary are great. No Diesel on post, but service station next to famcamp.

Location is excellent for a base camp in Oklahoma City. Camp host Linda is very helpful and organized keeping the famcamp going during the Covid 19 situation. The Gott gate is closest to the famcamp and the recommended RV / truck gate. All hookups utilities were good but the restrooms are closed for now. Must see attraction is the Cowboy and Western Museum not far away from base. The site was just long enough for our 40' motorhome and tight to get in and out.
