Small, lakeside campground. A bit old and neglected, but rates are ideal.

Small campground near many historical sites. It is quiet and has friendly campers. Campground is on a hill overlooking a small lake.

The Laughlin AFB Outdoor Recreation Area and boat ramp, collectively named Southwinds Marina, are located on Lake Amistad, one of the larger, clearer lakes in Texas. The recreation area is located off of Highway 90 West and Spur 349. Southwinds Marina offers a variety of outdoor activities. The marina rental facility has reasonably priced boat rentals. Rentals include fishing boats, bass boats, pontoon boats, ski boats, and deck boats.

Folks traveling for pleasure, on TDY or on PCS orders and looking for housing, find the year-round RV camp convenient, fun and affordable. Some families of service members who are patients in the David Grant Medical Center also use FamCamp. Facilities include laundromat, rest rooms, showers, full hook-ups, dry camp, tent area, phones, picnic tables, and TV cable. Pets are welcome.

Due to the recent fire at the campground, the Camp Murray Campground will be closed until 2027. NO EXCEPTIONS & NO free dumping. Camp Murray Beach and RV Campgrounds is a secret gem.  Off the beaten path, nestled in the woods, the campground is located on the Shore of American Lake.
