No bathroom or laundry. The spaces are all pull-through and kind of tight with dirt that can easily get muddy. Super close to downtown Savannah. It's super cheap, so you're getting what you pay for but worth it.

I have probably tent camped at 8-10 Famcamps this year and this was by far the worst. The tent area was removed from the RV area and was an empty, muddy, mosquito infested, area with un-mowed knee high weed vegetation that was way past primitive. If there is a caretaker he hasn't been there in months and the camp host did not care. I would not tent camp there. The RV sites, although appearing to be sub par appeared to be usable. The MP I complained to agreed he wouldn't camp there but regulations wouldn't allow Tents in the RV area. I moved on.

Lotts Island is a no frills campground. The price is $30 a night and we got spotty WiFi, a fire ring that was destroyed and somewhat level site. We felt for the price there should be a bit more amenities and better up keep. We had a substitute camp host for 2 days then left on our own. The campground is right by the gate and it's a tight turn to get to it. Just outside the gate is an Aldi's, Bass Pro, and a Walmart. PX is a bit of a drive to get to. We did like how easy and fast it was to get to downtown Savannah.

Savanah is a great city and this little famcamp is close to everything. Lots of shade and concrete patios for each site. We also posted a video of the campground.

An ok campsite that's close to Savannah. All restrooms including those at the nearby marina and MWR office were closed because of COVID. They could have at least had a porta- potty there. Nearby freeway is noisy.

This RV park is convenient to visit Savannah. Everyone should visit River Street and hopefully see a cargo ship travel by during its trip into port. Fort Pulaski is not far to appreciate history and to enjoy a picnic. The historic house tours of Savannah are very enjoyable. Sign up for one or several or perform a hop on hop off bus tour. Also, you may want to make time to just sit and enjoy one or more of the green space squares in Savannah. They are so nice. The original Carey Hilliards BBQ restaurant on Skidaway Road is a restaurant we would recommend. The onion rings are the very best. Overall, the campground is average. It's close to the fence boundary and a more busy street, so you do have some traffic noise. However, all the campsites are mostly shaded, from the very tall pine trees that surround the campground. Make sure you use the directions in this directory, because there is a 24/7 entrance gate very near the campground. Using any other gate is inconvenient and traveling on the busy surface streets around the post, can be a challenge you would like to avoid.

We love Savannah, and if you want to bring your RV, this could be a great option. A big negative is the lack of bathroom, shower, or laundry room, but if your RV is adequately equipped, this may not be an issue. Check out the video.

This is a good campground if you're looking to visit Savannah, GA on the cheap. The other campers were spaced apart, not on top of one another. The camp host was very friendly and helpful. The campground is very shaded which prevents the sun from drying the muddy areas. This campground is prone to being swampy with lots of standing water. The space we had was level thanks to gravel on the site. As for amenities, this campground has none. There is no laundry or bath house. Wi-Fi was available but spotty and weak. Power was stable, very few cable channels. (Air antenna had many more channels) The Army does not put much money into this campground and we are fortunate it exist. The base has a small exchange, commissary and a gas station. There is not much peace and quiet here due to air operations, lots of vehicular traffic and sirens of first responder vehicles from the nearby highway. Don't expect much but a safe campground for a night or two.

Love the park. First time here. Small park with plenty of room between units. Easy parking. I have a 36' fifth wheel and was so easy to back into my site. Park host, Nathan, very cordial. Close to Savannah for exploring. Will definitely be back. Downside is MWR never answers their phone and they're not very good at callbacks.

It was a pleasure to pull into the Lotts Island RV park at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA. We were met by the campground host Nathan and I could tell right away he takes his responsibility for the campground seriously. He made us feel welcome and right at home as he confirmed we were on his list of arrivals and told us about the local area. We asked where we could find some fresh Chitlins to eat and he said he’d have to get back to us on that after he talked to one of his relatives, and he did. Nathan takes care of the grass and over all appearance of the Lotts campground and I’m sure without him, things would not be as well kept. I would recommend this campground to anyone. Easy access to shopping right outside the gate. Great for cost effective short stay. The only draw back to this campground is that there are no bathroom or showers or laundry in the campground.

Stayed at the Campground for a Soccer Tournament for my sons soccer team nearby. It's a small campground but we had a great weekend stay. Just make sure you call ahead they don't return messages. Saw some negative reviews but our stay was good especially if you want a weekend get away to Savannah. We had fun with the kids nice fire pits overall good but we aren't picky people it's Camping.

Sent an email on Sunday asking for reservations for 2 nights arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday. Received a cc'd email from the MWR director TELLING the Famcamp Mgr to call me that day to check on availability (E-mail sent 9:45 am). At 1:00 pm I tried calling. No pickup, voice mail. Left message. Called again at 3:00 pm left message. Dito at 4:45pm. Next day, same as first. Sent complaint to MWR director on the next. On Friday, at 3:00pm, while setting up at a different RV park, the Famcamp Mgr. calls and wants to know if I still wanted to come to the Famcamp. Says she was off the last few days and her boss didn't know that she was. And the guy that normally answers the phone wasn't there either. (I call BS!)

Nice little park - with no Amenities like WIFI or Bathhouse. Nathan does a great job in keeping things going but some the facilities do need some attention. Spots need new gravel and the road does too. Though the information says 14 day stay it was apparent that some folks had been there for months. Great location to visit Savannah, 8th AF Museum and Tybee Island

This is a cozy , setback campground just inside the gate. We enjoyed the quiet and seclusion. HAAF has everything one could need. Campground host Nathan is amazing. He greeted us and shared info about base and local area! He is working hard to keep the grounds nice! The Army could put a few bucks into this park to keep areas from flooding....we enjoyed our stay, super close to all the Savannah highlights! Will come back!

Nice... not really. Practical... yes. Cost effective... yes. Gravel sites, dirt road. LOTS of mud and ruts. Almost impossible with a 40ft rig to make immediate left turn onto road after coming through gate. Camp host, Nathan, very helpful and keeps grounds as nice as he can with what little he has to do it with I'm sure. Full h/u. Sewer sets to rear. We reached it with 2 sections, but 3 would be better. Lots of mud. Old sites, not well maintained as far as amenities go, but tidy thanks to Nathan. Noisy. Lots of traffic near by. Lots of stores, food near by. PX/comm accessible, 20 min from campsite. Typical old run down Army outdoor rec. Easy check in. No bath house. Laundry on post, not on site. Easy access to Local sites. Great for cost effective short stay. Ample cell coverage for ATT.

This park was a perfect 2-day stop for us to tour Savannah. The camp site host was very accommodating. The site was clean and the hookups worked great. The park is located within in a 2-minute walking distance from a nice large mall and within a 5-minute walking distance from a Walmart. Considering the location and the extra peace of being in a gated community (on a military base), this is a good value. We would certainly return to this park.

This RV park is substandard and probably the most ghettoish I ever stayed at. Although the location is ideal for accessing local restaurants and business, it is vastly unkept. When it rains it becomes a swamp. There are NO facilities whatsoever. No WiFi, and not even a simple restroom with a couple of sinks and toilets. It also appears that the majority of users are homesteading.

Had made "reservations" a few weeks ago and were told we would have spot #5. When we arrived, someone was in that spot and looked like they had been there for quite some time.So we drove around the loop and picked another spot. MWR was closed for the day, so we set up and planned on going in the morning to pay. There were so many bugs, flies and ants! We had to constantly spray ourselves with bug spray. It was all dirt everywhere. We have 2 dogs and had to actually load them up in the car and take them somewhere else to do their business because of the insects, and there was not much grass in the park either. The receptacle where you discard your dogs poop was completely full, and hadn't been emptied in a while. We had planned on staying a few days, but couldn't tolerate the conditions, so left after 1 night. We did go to MWR, and spoke to a couple of great guys, filled out a comment card, and were told to leave cash in the box back at the camp (the person in charge of the RV park wasn't in). I would not recommend this park at all!

Stopped at Lotts Island RV Park on 3/21/2017 on our way home from Florida. The office was closed so we picked an empty site and set up. After we were completely set up, a young man in a MWR t-shirt arrived and informed us that we could only stay if we had a reservation and that they were not accepting reservations. He stated this was because workers were supposed to come and address the stumps of trees that were blown down by Hurricane Mathew five months previously. When I inquired as to why other campers were allowed to stay, he stated that they were there "before". Since it was obvious that the other units looked like they had been there awhile, I asked who they were and he replied "contractors". Who are these people and what gives them precedence over retired military? As it was late in the afternoon and we were already set up and had put our check in the drop box, we came to an agreement that we would address the situation the next morning. At 8am the following morning, the camp director, Chase Howell POUNDED on our camper door. He informed us that we could not stay there without a reservation. When asked how to get reservation, he replied we couldn't and threatened to call the MPs if we didn't leave. We elected to speak to the MPs and they agreed that regardless of all the empty sites, we couldn't stay without a reservation. The MWR campground website does not state that the campground is closed or that reservations are required. It even states that civilians are welcome space available. The guards at the entrance gate next to the campground did not say anything either. As another retiree was asked to leave also, this was not just an isolated event. As you can ascertain by the previous reviews, this situation has been on going since at least 2013. We have been traveling the last four years and have stayed in military campgrounds all over this country. We have always been treated fairly and with respect. This place treated a 36 year veteran like a criminal.

They are still closed due to the damage from Hurricane Mathew. :-( *Disregard ratings since it's a requirement to rate it in order to post a review.
