Very nice CG close to downtown and OBX. Rate is 40 a night. Loved the views of the river. Would come back. Make sure to call first. Very busy is the summer.
Not a bad little spot. Easy to get to off I-20. Punch in the address for the bank just outside the main gate on Victory dr into your GPS. Spots are hardstand pads with good power and water. I was seeing over 120 on both legs. Staff are friendly. You can pay at the guy or with the camp host. Going through security was no big deal. If you have a large rig getting in is simple, getting out you...
Second time staying here. Price went up, not too much of a fan on that. Sites easy to get into. I would stay again.
We stayed a few days in mid October. Weather was nice and easy to get into with a 44ft 5th wheel. You cant beat the rate with the Access pass discount. Comes out to 23 a night. We were on the road side, it wasn't that bad. I would return.
We have been here for 6 weeks. Dont plan on moving soon, as I took a job on YPG, so we will be here for a bit. Rate is 435 monthly. Not a bad deal being that its FHU with cable. There have been some changes since others posted. No box is required for CATV as of about a year ago. You can just have your TV scan and get a huge range of channels. Power and water is good....
Great stop for the area. Very easy to access with a 44ft 5th wheel. People there were quiet and friendly. Good power and water quality. I would recommend calling to see if they have space available during the snowbird season. My understanding is they do fill up quick.
We stayed at Dyess for just over 2 days. Easy in and out through the main gate. Nice pull through with FHU sites. No issues with a 44ft 5th wheel toy hauler. Commissary was easy to get to and worth the visit. Good deals on meat. Watch for ant mounds. It's Texas, so there will be some. Very quiet CG. Good power and water. I would defiantly return.
This is a gem. We stayed in the newer section which is all pull through spots. For 22 a night you cant beat it. FHU with cement pad. Both water and power were real good. Easy to get to. We came in on a Sunday and had to use the main gate of 71 South (Barksdale blvd). You can use the above directions to get to the main gate or if coming from the east on I 20 (traveling westbound),...
Not a bad little CG at all. Well kept up. Both power and water were good. Easy to get on post from I20. Once on post it gets a little fun. The CG is about 12 miles on the back-40. Roads getting back there are good. Lots of hills to go up and down. Not that big of deal. Overall a good experience and I would return. NOTE: The rates went up OCT-1. Now 32 a night.
Older review, but I wanted to share. We stayed overnight while traveling from Alaska to Kentucky. Very impressed with the CG. If I was back in the area I would stay again. No issues with power or water. Easy to access and close to BX.
Very small CG that's very easy to get to off I-80. No issue getting through the gate in a 44ft 5th wheel toy hauler. Easy to back into site and people there were friendly. So you wonder why I only give it 3-star on a few categories. They should make all sites 50 amp. Our site had a 20/30/50 amp breaker, but no 50 amp plug. Thats an easy issue to fix. Only 5 sites were FHU with 50...
This would be a nice location if the city of San Antonio would reopen and fix it up. I would hope they would enter some agreement with the military to reopen. The CG closed after Brooks AFB closed and the city bought it back in 2010. Your only options for military CG in the area are FT Sam and Lackland AFB.
This CG has a huge potential to be a great if the AF would spend some money to upgrade it. We stayed there for one night. It seems to have lots of homesteading going on. Staff were fine for the most part. The CG host was somewhat helpful. He seemed not to care too much. There are lots of maintenance issues that need to be addressed. Our site was not bad to get a 44ft 5th wheel into, but the...
Nice small CG we stayed at on our way from Maine to North Carolina. Easy to get into with a 44ft long 5th wheel. When coming in the gate use the entrance all the way to the right. If closed the SP will open it for you. You will go over some curbs while coming in the gate area. Curbs are rounded and wont hurt the tires. Once on post very easy to get to CG. Commissary was very nice...
Very nice campground close to Boston area. Site is beside the airfield so you will get noise from aircraft. Not really too bad. The airfield shuts down at night so sleeping was not an issue. Other then the airfield noise, it was a very quiet place. We stayed for 10 days while family was in hospital in Boston. Ann-Marie (Camp Host) was very awesome to deal with and she will go out of the way to help you. We...
