Just talked to a friend who is at MacDill. They have been in dry camp since arrival in early November. Sites bordering the dry camp field are still being worked on as are most of the sites in what is called "the sand pit." Additionally, the 'new' campground office building is still nothing but bare ground. Folks arriving are being given a list of private campgounds in the area. What a mess!!!

Ditto on this. As of now there is a 4-day rotation policy in effect for dry camp. But only 4 fhu sites are being used to rotate. We did one 4-day rotation and when we went back to dry camp last week we're told not to expect another 4 day rotation opportunity. I was talking to a contract worker and he said they were going to try to get everything done by 1 Feb. He wasn't the honcho so I guess take that date with a grain of salt.....

It's our understanding the FHU sites at MacDill are full (or not available due to construction), so dry camping is the only option. Someone in an earlier post described these sites as "muddy". Can anyone elaborate on this? Muddy only when it rains? Or, muddy 24/7?

Talking to a friend who is at MacDill last evening. Still 20+ in the dry camp field. They are not using the sites along the fence nor the ones along the canal/creek (partial hookup sites). The former rotation/short term area (called the sand pit) is being used for long term.

Construction on the 'new office' that was to start a year ago is still a no go.

Just wondering if any progress on all that work (term used lightly) being done(?) in the FamCamp. If they work half as fast as they are working on the hotel, the work might get done in time for the 2020 season.
