Great place for vacation. Stayed the whole 4th of July week and was surrounded by great people. The beach was just a short walk away. Will definitely stay here again.

A really nice spot in a great area. Access to the beach is tough as you have to take a short ride, but you can do that in your tow vehicle or a bike. The north end where we stayed this time was unsheltered by trees, but still is nice. There was no problem with the full hook ups. I made an error and lost track of time and checked out about an hour after the time and they wacked me for the whole day. Such is life. Still, I would go back.

North campground is $25/night. It doesn't have any trees or shade. South end $35. All sites are concrete pad. There are several double sites. Active duty can reserve a year in advance. Beach is beautiful. Plenty to do all around Virginia Beach. Staff was excellent.

Enjoyed our stay. Using the photos from this website, I deliberately picked the north section due to fewer trees for easier satellite reception. No problems there (driving through the more "scenic" south section, I see where some sites might have blocked our reception). Couldn't see the ocean or hear it much, nevertheless we liked being just a walk over the dunes. Would have been nice to get a better briefing upon checking in as to where to access the pet friendly beach. Liked that they let you pick your site from the available ones. No BBQ grill at our site so when I asked, was told there was some at the pavillion next to the office that we were welcome to use. However, these were gas operated, not bring your own brickets and they were all out of propane. Maintenance was doing some repair or expansion to the office building and we heard the hammering start around 0730, but didn't bother us much. Commissary, Class 6 and gas all within easy drive. Hope to return some day!

A great bargain for the location. All sites are concrete pads and mostly level. Campground is kept very clean and sites are not cluttered with personal affects. We have been to several Military campgrounds where the long term residents have all of their things scattered at the site. Two sections, North and South, to this campground. The south end costs a little more, I'm guessing due to the many trees located throughout. No shade in the North section. There is a very convenient beach access in the South end. North end beach access is a short walk thru a parking lot. Lots of things to do in the area off base. Just found out they have changed the reservation policy here. Retirees can no longer make reservations a year out, now 6 months. We will be back.

This was our 2nd RV campground ever and we like this place very much! We made the right choice staying here and got lucky to get 2 days available spot until September of 2021 because the campsite was full the whole time we were there. We picked site #51 in the south side that is very close to amenities, public restrooms (with door code) and pavilion are very clean. Sites are all in level concrete pads with picnic tables but no fire ring and BBQ pit that I notice in them but they have them in the pavilion area. Did not use campground WiFi but my T-Mobile phone hot spot worked great for my fire TV. We were next to a family with a large 5th wheel and they were very nice, I think the service member is Station there. I can't tell the difference between homesteaders and weekenders but I did not see any clutter or any unsightly campsite while we were there. Walk to the beach with my wife until sunset was an unforgettable experience on my birthday. Two tips for the newcomer, watch out for the very low laying branches on the south side, do drive 5 MPH because the road is very narrow and there are many kids playing around even though they are all with adult supervision. VA beach is only 15 minutes away and there are many Filipino restaurants nearby. The host is extremely nice and very helpful.

Sea Mist is still a great bargain. Used one of the Rustic Cabins (#25/night) as base for some shopping in VA Beach. Neat, compact, clean, and peaceful #1 was stepped from the bathroom and laundry. Registered by phone, arrived after office closed for day and found (as informed) easily upon arrival. Noticed several RV sites open. Kind of wished I had driven the RV but since this was a spur of the moment trip I didn't want to un-winterize it.

Great facilities, however, just want to let everyone know that the price has risen to $35 per night in old section and still $25 in new section until the fix the showers and then that price will go up to $35.

Excellent location if you like the ocean. Directions on website are dead on to main gate and close to famcamp. Great facilities and all sites FHU's, paved roads and concrete sites. Previous reviews say it all - maintenance and upkeep excellent, several washers and dryers (all working) and friendly office staff. Great value for the famcamp and lots of things to do in the area. We will stay here again.

Great campground and great value. Sites paved, level and clean. Stayed in older section which appeared to have a few homesteaders which is unfortunate this is allowed to go on. Campground was nearly full so Im sure these homesteaders are making it difficult for others to have a turn for a great vacation at a reasonable price. Office staff very friendly and helpful. 50 amp breaker on my site (39) was weak and would trip if pulling over 35 amps. Reported to office but was not replaced the week we were there but office did offer to move me to another site. Was still able to run two a/c’s with hotwater switched to propane. Stayed on double site 39&40 which is satellite dish friendly but gets full sun most of day. The sites across the street on the east side of road have more shade and several still would allow use of rooftop mounted sat dish. Entry and exit to base even bringing non military guests in their camper on Sunday was problem free with wife accompanying them through gate with their camper and vouching with her ID card. They followed me in our motorhome. Beach at campground nice and allowed dogs in specific area as long as leashed. Several people had their pets on beach and I observed no problems. Local area at Virginia beach very nice. All you can eat crab legs, Brazilian steakhouse, aquarium, Boardwalk, USS Wisconsin, all great things to do. Definitely will return. If homesteaders not hogging all spots.

Grabbed one of only a handful of available sites on the new side, adjacent to Regulus. Staff was excellent - we checked in after hours, paperwork was right where they said it would be. Site was clean, easy to navigate. Never did visit the beach, but enjoyed the location, being close to Virginia Beach. Was only the 2nd trip with our 26' Aspen Trail, couldn't ask for a better visit. Even though the park was full, not much traffic, people or otherwise, to speak of. Would visit again, but was told long-term visitors take up most of the park.

July 2019. Pay $25/night for concrete pad with water, electricity and sewer and across dunes from beach. There is a north and south end. North End - new, near check-in building, great number of washers and dryers, no trees to speak of ?? and shower facilities down (apparently been that way for a while, luckily I am self-contained). South end - older, lots of shade, longer slots, beach access (walkway to beach), shower facilities (again older) and half the number of washers and dryers. Unique concept is there are a few double pads for two RV’s side by side for $40/night. Great for two but you will be close Bottom line is for the cost, it can’t be beat!

It's hard to beat the beach location of this RV Park and routine (daily) maintenance is very good. My concern is for the shower facilities. I have been using Sea Mist yearly for the last 8 years. During that time the number of available showers has deteriorated from 10 to just 3 this last trip. All of the showers in the North (upper) section are blocked-off due to concerns for the integrity of the floors. On top of that, only 2 of the 3 showers in the South section (2 male and 1 female) were available. I know that (on paper) we are all self-contained, but sanitation facilities are essential services and should be adequate for the number of RVs present. Make sure everything works before going there.

It has been a while since we were last here but it is always delightful. Our site was in the "old" section which was upgraded correctly. This is a great place to kick back, relax and recharge.

Spent a week at Sea Mist and had a grand time! Even with all the rains that they had recently park was neat and tidy. You could see where work had been done recently to fix and repair things around the camp. Camp host was very helpful on a couple of occasions when we needed her. We'll be back!

Our family has stayed at Sea Mist many times and have enjoyed the location and staff. We noticed this visit that the facility is in disrepair. Showers are in back shape, many trees (which are dead and perhaps “widow makers”) need to be removed. Floors in main facility are rotten in the bathrooms and building should be condemned or repaired.

We love this campground and have stayed here many times. Having said that there are a couple of things they should address. The secret is out. It is a popular location and it is getting harder to book a reservation. One thing they could do is reduce the number of homesteaders. Over 50% of the campers here are long term. Some have been here for years. Yes --years! Another thing is that maintenance seems to have tapered off a bit since the last time we were here but it is still a nice location. Sites are concrete and level. It is beginning to show its age and is in need of a little paint on the new office, laundry and shower building. Railings are peeling. Its still a nice facility but in need of some paint. The fencing near the sand dunes needs to be replaced.

We love Sea Mist RV Campground. The staff changes but the great location stays the same. The building and woodwork are beginning to show their age and need a fresh coat of paint. There continue to be a special few who have beat the system and live here for long periods of time, homesteading. Sad, but some people have been here for years. I wish I was kidding. But it you can snag a site, you'll see why we love it here. It continues to be a very nice place. They upped the daily rate to $25 with week or monthly rates.
