It has been a while since we were last here but it is always delightful. Our site was in the "old" section which was upgraded correctly. This is a great place to kick back, relax and recharge.

This was our fifth visit (4th review). The bathhouse is finally getting a complete makeover - should be completed in October 2018. We arrived on a Thursday, there was no work on Friday and only 6 hours on Monday. With the bathhouse unavailable, the daily rate is $16 vice the normal $22. Alternate shower facilities are available with a map to them and door code provided at check in. Porta potties are located in the campground. MWR Staff was...

Once again, we were here in the "off" season, also the "HOT" season. Called ahead to ensure space was available and Scott confirmed. About half of the FamCamp was closed for seasonal work, but there was still plenty to choose from. We even found a tree to camp next to :) Needed a part for my rig; it was delivered to the office well before our arrival. Notification of staff that I would be there to pick it up...

Some comments to add to the recent ones: Camp Hosts were away when we arrived so we chose a site and phoned MWR; were able to check in over the phone (+ +). At the time we were here, there were always 4 to 8 open sites (for last minute reservations). There is a very nice fruit & veggie stand about a mile south of the Singleton Gate, left side; easy to miss; convenient turn-around to get to it....

Second stay here. Still tight quarters especially as Class A's and 5th Wheels get longer. Surprised that at this time of year, after spring break, there were an average of 13 unoccupied sites every night. So, same-day reservations may be possible at this time of year. You can't find a better deal in Destin.

On the advice of a New Orleans Native, we took the General DeGaulle drive (very first exit after crossing the bridge on US-90BUS) until across the Intracoastal Waterway. That avoided the Belle Chasse tunnel which is narrow but passable. With the exception of location, every aspect about this RV Park exceeds the former Navy Annex park in the Algiers neighborhood. The Staff is friendly and responsive. The Base facilities (NEX, Commisary, MWR, Gas Station, Chapel) are nearby....

This was our first time here. Extremely pleasant experience starting welcoming office personnel with LOTS of information at check-in. I can't add much to the comments about facilities. WiFi left a lot to be desired: speed extremely slow (with only about 10% occupancy in the FamCamp) - use the DSL connections in the office. Wilmot Gate is OK for cars but there's a nasty speed bump that may cause big rigs to bottom out. Check it...

A very nice facility. If you come here, ask for a waterfront site (above #45 is better). The extra $5 is worth it. If you drive a Class "A" and have enough power, water, and sewer connection hoses/cables to hook up on the opposite side, park nose in so you can enjoy the view of the bay and city skyline either inside or outside. NAS North Island, nearby, has all the base facilities you might need....

Base stickers no longer required for entry onto the base. ID's for everyone over 16 years old, that's it. Clean, well manicured park! Didn't sense any activity or noise from the adjacent illegal (?) camp. Restrooms/showers are model. Camp Host Bob very attentive and on top of issues/problems. Quiet and spacious. We will be back!!

This was our third stay here since the Fam Camp opened. The automated reservation system went down in June due to a lightning strike and it hasn't been repaired yet. There is no backup manual reservation system. So, it's first come, first served! The Outdoor Recreation office personnel don't even know how many spots are available. While I was checking in, an incoming camper phoned to see if any spots were available. The person...

This was our second stay here. Camp Hosts Richard and Tammy are tops in hospitality! EASY access to the RV Park from the gate. Spacious sites, though several (10 or so) were out of order; reservations recommended. You can have sun or shade or both. Walk to the commissary if your shopping list is small. Free laundry. Bathroom w/shower accommodates only one person at a time. It appears the conditions cited in the November...

A nice FamCamp. Hosts were congenial; disappointed that we didn't stay longer. We like trees so this was very pleasant for us; shade most of the day; that helped with keeping the RV cool. Restrooms/showers, Clean clean clean! Base commissary/BX very convenient and appropriately stocked. Gas station has room for big rigs needing diesel (use the right hand pumps, right side). Note: you have to enter via the commercial gate for security, BUT you can depart via the main gate;...

Previous reviews are fair. Location to Denver and value are good (we've stayed at two really nasty private parks on the south side of town at higher rates). The state park is nice but if you are not a Colorado resident it's pricey. So, $22/night is very fair. All water connections have pressure regulators installed; sites are level, concrete, and can handle a 45-footer. The grass was mowed while we were there. The contractor was very...

The directions and the campground information provided in the webpage summary are spot on. Sites 1-12 are in shade but delightful. The others range from full sun to partial shade. Bathhouse was clean. NEVER saw a campground host. Base Commissary is new and very nice. Air traffic is minimal so noise is rare. If you are interested in visiting St Louis, there is a St Louis Metrolink light rail station adjacent to the...

Nothing has changed since our first visit here in 2005. But we return every year. Rates have not changed either, still $18/$9 Golden Age Pass. Cleanliness has diminished since our last visit. It's still a good value though.
