Interesting visit this off-season at the Round Top Rec area. Was sheduled to site 6, but that RV site was more than 20 degrees slope. Even with five inches of blocks under the front jacks, and lifting the front tires as much off the ground, could not get level. Moved to 28, but 27 is also much more level, too. StarLink was 94Mbps download/20Mbps upload. T-Mobile exceptionally weak, one bar, with speeds of 1.2Mbps download/0.7Mbps upload. Over the air TV channels were sparse, with signals at 94 channels, but only twelve video channels and three language-only (Spanish/Chinese/Korean) came in clear enough to be useful. Noticed discounts for September/October 2024 for mid-week cabin rentals. This off-season opportuniteis for discounted cabins, which are posted in media uploads. Beautiful here with the leaves changing.

Gravel lots throughout, mostly level with water and electric hookups. All sites are back-in, with the electric hookup on the passenger side, but the water on the driver's side. Picnic table and fire ring provided. Roads throughout the RV/cabin area are narrow, one-way, but navigated without much difficult in ClassC. Laundry and bathrooms within short walking distance. Dump station available at entrance to camp/cottage area. No T-Mobile cellular coverage, but marginal(140Mbps) Starlink coverage. After hours sign in package at the camp office, and caretaker at facility for assistance. Tripped the old 30amp service with microwave and coffee pot. Somewhat off the beaten track from interstate and state routes, but nice drive by the firing ranges and training areas for the Military Academy. Gorgeous scenery on the drive to the campground, as well as within the facility.

We are full time RVers and visit famcamps all over the US. We usually really love the opportunity to be able to stay on them. But this might be the worst one unfortunately. The approach is dangerous; there’s no other way to say it. Be very very careful going up the approach!!!! The directions are ok. We were able to make a reservation and the girls inside the office were nice and accommodating. The locations are not great and you need to be an expert driver to get the RV where it needs to be. No sewer but the bathrooms were clean with hot water. We went to New York City for the day taking a train, which was really fun! We also did the tour of West Point which we highly recommend! Overall, we wouldn’t go back to this famcamp.

Greetings! Such an, yet MWR continues to run it into the ground. Rates continue to go up, yet the Campground is run down. Stayed here twice past 2 years very little maintenance done, sites are in poor condition, Very Noteworthy.... during cadet graduation, military has less of priority than parents of the cadets who aren't military... Most sites un-level, none with sewer, however they will provide a honey bucket once a week for an additional fee, water pressure is marginal at best..., So sad to see a military campground in this condition.

Had a really nice campsite. Our purpose of the trip was to visit Old Rhineback Aerodrome and see the air show and museum, the campsite we had was on the opposite side of the lake and there were 3 sites in our grouping, but it was still nice and private. There were no problems with the water or electric and the dump station was easy to access. We were able to go down and see a concert at Trophy Point, even though it was windy and cold, it was nice. This a a true gem and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Overall a very nice campground. The sites are roomy with power and water. The bathrooms were clean and the laundry was decent with one machine out of order. Very convenient to West Point, NYC and the hudson valley area. It's a quiet and peaceful place at a very reasonable cost. Cell reception at the back of the campground is bad but the sites closer to the office have a decent signal.

Have stayed at Round Pond many times. Great location and setting. The main two drawbacks are lack of sewer hook up and poor cell reception. If you are down near the bathhouse you will have very poor cell reception. It is a great place to stay.

Beautiful place to camp. Easy to make reservations. Check in was smooth. We booked a couple nights staying in site #9 by the bath house. It was very nice and we had a great view of the lake. We enjoyed it so much we decided to extend our stay. We moved to site #C16. It was much more secluded and surrounded by trees - very beautiful. I will say the higher up we were, the more we were able to hear the firing range. We didn't hear it at all while staying by the bathhouse. The mosquitos were much worse too up in the foliage. I wish I had a screened in tent to be able to enjoy the outdoors more. The temps were wonderful, the views and area is just gorgeous. My only negative is it's not located on the base and anyone can access the area. So we had to lock everything up each night and when we left the site. When we are on a base, we don't need to worry about locking everything up. We did like that we were very close to West Point and enjoyed exploring the amazing campus. So much history and beauty. We were surprised how much we liked it there and have already made another reservation to return next month.

Stayed here for 7 nights and had an good experience overall. The reservation was easy to get and was able to work with staff to adjust by several days at about 3 weeks out. The entrance is up a steep hill but a properly sized tow vehicle should not have any problems. The road is a bit narrow at places so meeting another RV would be an issue. There are several places where the trees are low or hanging into the road where you will scrape if not careful. Initially, we were assigned site C5 that is in the loop behind the dump/bath house. We were directed to drive around this back loop which turned out to be nearly impassable with a 37’ fifth wheel. There are very low overhanging trees and large rocks along the loop. I badly scratched our rig and nearly lost our sewer outlet on a rock. Turns out our rig would not even fit in the assigned site. The staff put us into overflow for the night, which is right next to the office and has electric and water, and found us a better site. The rest of the stay was very enjoyable. There was not much ATT service while on the back side of the pond near the bath house. However, we could get a couple of bars when we walked to the top of the ridge on the other side of the pond. I would stay here again when visiting the area, but I’ll make sure to avoid that back loop.

A great place to get off the road and really relax, clean, secure, and very easy to access. We pull a 35 foot travel trailer, and there are a few of the back area sites where it gets a bit tight... main access road, and route to dump station is no problem at all. Stop here multiple times a year ... love and enjoy the area. Base facilities (commissary, gas, etc.) just a few minutes away. Have a good time!! * I must agree with the comments on the entrance road... a very steep drive up, then down into campground (basically driving up and over a ridge)...so keep in low gear, and take your time ... not too big of a deal :-)

This is a great place to spend some time and unwind. The road in is paved and not scary like stated in other reviews. I was in a 38 foot class a pulling a Jeep and had no problems, nothing hit my rig. Location is great for city or the back country. Showers bathroom and laundry were clean and all usable. People that work here are very helpful and polite.

This place is adequate. The drive to the office from the main road is a bit scary and they need to trim trees so rigs our size don't scrape. The ladies at the front desk in the Office were exceptional. Very helpful with information and friendly. We camped in the same area we did last time near the laundry and shower. We were able to get satellite TV access for which we were thankful. The site was underwater and not level. After it dried out it was OK. Looks as if there have been some attempts at fixing things, they just need to finish and do it right. The laundry room and bath houses need to be scrubbed har, steam cleaned and repainted. The new washer and dryer coin box was broken and had to be jerry-rigged to work. There is talk to cement slabs there which would be nice, if they are level. Having said all that, it is still convenient and a place we would visit again. We camped in a motor home.

It is important for new comers to understand that entrance to this campground is very steep. If your vehicle is having difficulty with brakes, transmission, or other mechanical issue....don't do it.

This place earns a 5 star for location; however, the sites were designed for 20' travel trailers. That being said, the sites are not well organized or standardized and definitely not very level. You never know which side the power pedestal and water hookup will be located. When it rains, puddles are everywhere because of the lack of even gravel. The laundry room and showers were dirty and didn't appear to be truly cleaned for months. And since there is no sewer hookup at the sites, you are forced to use the facilities. No WiFi and cell service is spotty which is common for the area. If I were the Commander of USAG West Pont and the USMA, I would almost be embarrassed that this place is associated with the school that produces some of the finest engineers in the world.

Very nice park. Sites are on the rough side, we had to use a lot of blocks to get our rig level and there is no sewer hook up. However, the dump station is very convenient. We had no WiFi or cell phone coverage so you get to enjoy unspoiled nature. Didn't use the lake or facilities so can't comment on them. We were in a 28' Class A motorhome.

Nice park. Beware of the road off 293 that goes up to the actual park. I'm from the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina and a windy road to me is different than a windy road to most other people. This road is windy in anybody's book. It climbs at a pretty steep grade and has some tight turns. Now, this isn't meant to scare anyone off because it is absolutely doable. You just need to be aware of it and stay in a low gear. We are a 40' fiver with a beast of a dually truck so about 60' total and we didn't have a problem. Now, about the park. It is laid out around a pond. It is pretty and laid out in such a way that there is plenty of elbow room for each RV. No crowding. It is quiet and some shady sites and some open spots. I have almost no problem with park at all except 2 things: lack of sewer hook up. (I'm spoiled and like my full hookup). There is a honey wagon that comes around each day and for $8 he will pump you out. Water & electric were fine. And we had almost no cell signal for hotspot, but we could make phone calls - go figure. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Round Pond campground has gone completely downhill. Bathhouse, restrooms and showers were dirty & moldy. Lake is scummy & unclean!(Overgrown with weeds, pond scum, etc.) Entire experience has been a steady decline that we have noticed over the past several years. Mgmt & staff have changed and not for the better. Experience level is down, attitudes are up. New reservation system no longer allows you to reserve a specific campsite. Why would you bother reserving then? Our family has camped here for many years and are now considering going elsewhere.

We stayed in Site C11. It requires backing in from the access road, and we had no problem with our 39f t 5th wheel. We had access to our Dish Satellite (portable), but Verizon MIFI was iffy. The park is wooded and well maintained. Restrooms were clean until 3 large family groups (lots of kids) arrived at the beach, then TP and hand towels on the floor. The commissary and PX were 10 minutes away. It's longer if you want to go to a Wal-Mart or Homedepot (you have to return to US6/I-87). We toured the Post and Museum, and just missed the warrior games. We took the train to NYC from the Peekskill Station (Take a roll of quarters, parking is metered and it's $0.75 per hour, 12 hour max) to Grand Central Terminal, then subway down to the 9-11 memorial and wall street. Also took the Sloop cruise around the Harbor - well worth the cost. Boating, Fishing and Swimming beach made this a very comfortable "down week" during our swing into New England. TRAVEL NOTE: There are two Bridges less than 13 ft high that do not show up on AllStays low clearance on 9W and County road 9 northbound. DO NOT TAKE YOUR RV ON THIS ROUTE. Back track to 6/17/I-87 to leave the area.

We did not stay here, but I wanted to give a shout out to the staff, who I called and was desperate for a site as my daughter was graduating college. They had a spot and would get us in, Information on prices , directions and ammenities were all clear and concise, low and behold, our daughters driveway fit us and we didn't need to stay there, they were still polite as we cancelled our reservation...can't wait to go back and use facilities..

Not all sites are “big rig (or satellite) friendly”, but we found this to be a really nice campground. There are many amenities, including fishing, swimming, paddle boat and canoe rental. Note that sites are water and electric - no sewer - although there is a dump station, as well as honey-wagon service twice weekly. This campground does not offer WiFi -- we went to Starbucks to satisfy our Internet cravings. This was our first visit to the USMA and we thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful campground.
