We've stayed at a lot of FamCamps, but none with nicer folks than at Pt. Mugu California.
We were the same time as Larry. He was awaiting parts for his motor home, and we were on our way south to the San Diego area.
The beach at Pt. Mugu is vacant most of the time, and a great place to let your animals run... if there are no other campers around. Going over to the CB's base in Ventura is a hop skip and jump where you can find anything you need in the way of Commissary or Echange. I did not get a chance to try the fishing from the beach, but I saw others who were attempting it.
The Campground sits adjacent to the beach with some really wonderful sunsets.
