Personal Protection

I know some bases/posts have signs posted (circle w/slash) restricting firearms but not all.
Is there a way to know if there is a restriction against carrying your personal protection in your TT/RV onto a FAMCAMP prior to arrival? ???

Give them a call ahead of time - only way I can think of.

Firearm policys on installations are as varied as RVs. I'd second the suggestion to call ahead. If you're making a call for a reservation ask for the number to the Provost Marshall's office or MP desk. Or you can go to an installation's website and look up the number.

It was suggested before, but I let the idea slip past me. This discussion brought the idea back.

I've added a new section to the recreation facility information pages for "Firearms Policy". This section will reflect what the policy is for that installation or facility on firearms. Of course, this section will be mainly empty until users start including this information. When a user submits a campground update, they also can include what the firearm policy is. To get it started, you can also send me an email (or reply here) with known firearm policies. I'll add the few that I'm aware of.

This new section is located in the "Other Information" area, located under the pricing table. I entered the Firearms Policy for Volunteer Park Travel Campsite in New Mexico. You can review this listing here.

The U.S. Military Campgrounds Directory software will include this new section in the July monthly update.

FYI
If you are going to be in the Phoenix area on Sept 26 - 28, you might want to sign up and attend The "Gun Rights Policy Conference" show below. IT IS FREE, and should be real interesting. I certainly plan to go. This is one of your AMERICAN RIGHTS.

Also take a look at Massad AYOOB's Lethal Force Institute will be at the Phoenix Rod & Gun Club Oct. 6 - 10 2008. Mass is one the most popular, Best Known authorities on fire arms training, Legal Right, and laws pertaining to the use of Lethal Force. He teaches courses all over the country. Many of his students are noted personalities, movies stars, heads of State, and professional Body Guards. He is the most famous of the Gun Training Professionals. If I wasn't already signed up to take the Front Sight Course in November, I would take this course!
