The only negative comment I have about our stay at Oak Grove Park is we should have stayed longer. We loved it! The park nestles in the shade of many trees with large open sites for hookups. The showers, and the bathrooms were kept spotless. In fact it seems that someone was always picking up, raking, and tidying up around there all the time. It's a short walk to the beach which was for the most part during our stay, almost totally deserted. The "Amazing" Museum of Naval Aviation is within walking distance from the camp (for someone who doesn't mind a little exercise). This museum is entirely inside an environmental facility that begs description (you simply must see and experience it)and admission is free. There are well groomed walking/jogging trails that run for miles right in the park. You must travel about 15 minutes to get to the commissary and exchange at Cory Station, but those facilities are more than adequate for anything a camper would need and more. There is a food mall just down the road from the park where you can buy several types of fast foods and eat in a pleasant atmosphere. Right down the road is the Old Fort Barrancas maintained just as it was during the 1800's. This is also the home of the Blue Angels and a free performance can be watched from bleachers with an ongoing narration of all the manuvers. All and all a wonderful experience and a must to return to.

This is our second stay at this FamCamp. The location is great because of the easy access to the wonderful beach. I was surprised when talking to a fellow camper further down the road. He was under the impression that the CG was just across from the Naval Air Museum. That may have been the "old" place, but the one I stayed at is about 1/4 mile towards the gate. There is access on a dirt road across from the museum, but do not use it, instead use the entrance closer to the gate. The crew keeps the grounds clean. They even have personnel trying to keep the Oak leaves cleaned up with leaf blowers. Talk about job security! The park manager and check-in personnel are friendly. On-base amenities are abundant. We will return here again. We stayed in a MH.

Beautiful,beautiful,beautiful....this park is fun for the entire family...a short walk to a lighthouse, marina or a short walk across the street to the gas station/store..and a mile down the street a free museum about navel airplanes the day we were there the blue angels were signing autographs the beach was empty of people in skimpy attire just right for families..more modest wear....just a short note come prepared or bring a car to get around in as there is no place in walking distance to get milk or bread. We didn't bring a tow car and was stranded..but did get lots of walking exercise... washers and dryers 50 cents to wash and 25 cents to dry is well worth it bring your own soap and dryer sheets.... the key thing is weird but it keeps the laundry room clean and uncrowded....all in all I would live there if I could..it is wonderful....can't ask for a better group of camp hosts and personal anytime we were out they were willing to answer all questions on flora and fauna..I just cant say enough good about this place...cant wait for spring break next year.....word of warning this camp was packed most of the week we were there...I would call ahead and make reservations...

What a nice campground! It is close to the beautiful beach with crystal white sand and emerald waters ... restrooms/showers are immaculate, although the morning cleaning time is a bit inconvenient to those of us who enjoy sleeping in since retirement ... staff and camp host are most friendly and very helpful. Location makes travel very easy ... close to major highways. The major NEX and Commissary are a ways from the campground, but are very adequate. WalMart is close, so quick shopping is possible. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The campground is only a few yards from a sugar white beach and not far from the Pensacola Lighthouse and National Museum of Naval Aviation where we spent three days. We would definitely return. Hookups all worked well. Had to change sites mid-week but ended up with a nicer site. Only negatives - bit pricey, the roads are rocky and uncomfortable for walking, and the clubhouse stinks - most unpleasant. Campground staff were friendly.

My wife and I love it here. We are thinking about making this Campground our winter home. We have never stayed anywhere that is so beautiful. They have a great gym, walking paths, bike riding, site seeing, and more. Yes it cost a little more here, but you get what you pay for. Wifi cost $7.00 a night, 14.00 a week, or 31.00 month, but the wifi works great. Still cheaper than most monthly service providers. Washers are only .50 cents. You can stay 3 months, and then you have to leave for two weeks. Great camp hosts to boot.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at this facility and enjoyed it very much. However, IMHO there are a few things that could be done to make this an even better place. (1) Pave the roads within the park. For the money this park makes and charges paved roads would not be too much to expect; (2) The laundry is now available by obtaining a key from the staff and can only be signed out for a two hour limit and no laundry is to be started after 7PM or before 9PM. The laundry is well removed from the nearest camper and noise is not a problem. Why the key and time restrictions? Much more noise is generated by the nearby highway traffic early in the morning.; (3) The price! $23.00..I personally think this is out of line for a military facility since we stayed in FHU Mississippi State Parks for $14.00 offering much more individual space and more amenities. This was the highest price we paid in our last 2000 mile trip staying at COE and State Park facilities. It does have its' high points, proximity to attractions, the Air Museum, Blue Angel airshows to name a few and not to mention a terrific staff.

We liked this campground. The staff are extremely friendly. The phone rings off the hook so they're constantly busy but I never saw them anything but friendly and helpful, whether on the phone, or talking with campers. The fitness center on base is the nicest we've ever seen on a military installation. It's only 1 yr old-the old one was destroyed in Hurricane Ivan. VERY friendly staff. I had a massage. Tari, the massage therapist is just WONDERFUL but it's the most expensive rate I've seen yet - $65 for an hour. About twice what I've paid at every other base, so far. The only place we ate on base was the museum restaurant and that was very good. We walked to the museum - it's less than a mile, but if you choose to do that, take the pathway to the lighthouse instead of walking on the road. There are no sidewalks on the road and you have to be watching for traffic all along the way AND your shoes get filled with burrs. We took the walking path to the lighthouse one evening which is about a 1 mile round trip from the campground. The 1.5 mile private beach is just steps away from any of the campsites and it's really nice. Not many shells, though. Laundry has 6 washers and 4 dryers. Washers are only 50 cents each and dryers are only a quarter, but you need to put in another quarter to fully dry your load. You have to get a key from the office to use the wash house and the last load has to be put in by 7pm. There are quite a few red signs on base that say something like "no trespassing, violators will be arrested", but we were told to ignore them, that they were old signs. The practicing of the Blue Angels draws a lot of attention from the campers. It's really nice to watch and you can see them right overhead from the campground. There is a small exchange on base, but the bigger exchange and commissary are on Corey Station. There is a centrally located clubhouse and we heard karaoke twice while we were there, but didn't join in. They had two potlucks while we were there. They have a nice little book/magazine exchange and also an occasional VCR tape or two in the clubhouse.

We stayed in a one bedroom cottage and really enjoyed it. They do a walk through of the cottage at checkin with you. One bedroom cottage has two full size beds and the couch in the living room makes out into a very comfortable bed. One bed room cottage will sleep six people in comfort. Cottages are within walking distance to Navy lodging Inn, light house, Ft Barracas, and the Naval Air Museum. Walk out the patio and across the boardwalk to the white sugar sand beach. Price seems a little steep but remember it's location, location, location.

Have stayed there three times in last two years. The staff and camp hosts are great. Enjoy being so close to the beach and the museum. The sites are concrete and easily accessible, but it would be a lot less dusty if the roads were paved. Overall a great place to relax and enjoy retirement.

Wonderful facility with great location but has become more expensive - we have been camping here several years and each year have a rate increase - the wifi in most campgrounds is free or not as expensive. The proximity to beach is good but our state parks on the beach are less expensive although with fewer amenities. For military recreation, we would like to see more affordable parks.

We just finished staying 3 nights at the Pensacola NAS RV site. Clean and roomy. Nice location. We could see the water from our pad. Definately a good site. Little pricy but better than a KOA for sure.

Great campground. Commissary & Main Exchange is located about 5 miles away on Correy Station. Not too inconvenient. Bath facility is cleaned twice a day. I found two WiFi networks that were unsecure, free, and available. They were identified as "Internet" and "Internet1". Both operated at 11Mbps. Very friendly campground. Sites were available during our entire stay. Weather was extremely humid. Beach was great. Diesel is available. Extremely limited parking at the NEX on NAS Pensacola. No problem at Correy Station.

Ranks right up there with Nellis AFB and McChord AFB FamCamps as one of the very best military campgrounds in the US. Beautiful beach, friendly staff and great facilities.

Secound stay at this CG, Had the first site as you come in so had alot of traffic and dust. The site is lower than the road so got some muddy run off when it rained. Paving the roads would take care of the problem. Great beach access, Spotless bath and luandry. Lots to do in the aera. the BX just went threw a renovation. 90 day max stay. Another good experience at this CG.

We occupied Site #28 near entrance to campground. All sites are paved but the roads within the campground are gravel and very dusty. We had about 90 percent of all campground traffic pass our site creating a lot of dust. The hostess said there have been talk about paving the roads. We will try to get into a site on the back row next time. The Naval Aviation Museum is three-quarters of a mile from the campground. It is excellent and free. The Blue Angels practice for their airshows mostly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 0830 but this can change. Pickup a schedule at the museum. Get to the viewing area at least 30 minutes early and park at the museum. There is a grand stand (I've heard there is seating for 4,000 people) for viewing or you can take your lawn chair. There was standing room only on the day we went. You can take coffee, water, pop, etc., with you. Other interesting sites on base and within a mile or so of campground are Fort Barrancas, Barrancas National Cemetery and the old Pensacola Lighthouse. WiFi is available for 7.95 per day, 14.95 per week or 21.95 per month. There are no phone lines for dial-up. On site RV washing is allowed with fresh water only, no chemicals of any kind are allowed. The base has a free wash rack with 5 hoses. However, on the day we were there we found all hoses but one to be unusable due to rot. Take your own. The main exchange/commissary are off main base on U.S. Highway 98 about 3 miles from main gate. The gas stations at the main exchange and shoppette down the road across from the campground have diesel fuel. There are Super Walmarts just outside main and back gates. The hosts were very friendly. We will definite return to this campground.

Stayed for two weeks. Nice roomy sites. Very friendly folks. The museum close by is a must see. There is some aircraft noise due to the fact that the airfield is just across the road from the campground. The Blue Angels practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and can easily be seen from the campground although the grandstands for watching the show are close by. On the negative side, the Navy Exchange and Commissary are not at this base. They are at Corry Field, about a 15 minute drive from the campground. We will come back.
