Willow pond is a nice quiet campground. Sites are level and full hook up. We did have a problem with out power and had to be moved to Range 14. Willow pond is close to all post amenities and its an easy in and out. Dump station is large and clean. Limited sites make it a nice quiet place to stay.

It’s a nice place for the money. Food and the PX are close. The only down side is the constant aircraft noise. I enjoyed it because it felt like Afghanistan again but some will find it to be a burden. The bathrooms were open but not very clean. There is no sewer lines so you have to haul your waste via a cart or hook up and move over there every time you’re full. That’s a huge downside. The barracks behind it can get noisy during weekend drill, but that’s ok Soldiers are enjoying their time together. All in all we’re going to stay here for a month in the summer. Can’t be that bad.

Upon entering and conducting check in, the Outdoor Recreation staff was as close to unfriendly as is possible without crossing the line. She was just flat affect and ambivalent. No helpful information, a pitiful totally tiny base map, and some, "I don't know or I am not sure" answers. NOT HELPFUL. I pulled into site #3 with my dogs, got out and immediately encountered broken bottles in the taller grass. All around the electric post. I managed to get around it with the dogs, and called the office.....again the less than helpful staff said, "oh"...."ok"..... I then took the dogs for a walk, let them back to the RV, and hit the bathroom. DISGUSTING. Dirty, and old. Rust stains, and even some long hair on the floor. Totally gross. We decided that after a very long drive and the less than stellar surrounding to stay at on base lodging. Wont stay here....period.

We have low level, night-time, rotary operations flying directly over the campground from 9pm to 11pm, every 15 seconds on a Friday and Saturday night. Being on base, access to amenities is superb. Six Flags, our destination, is about 30 minutes away. Even if you've paid for your campsite on the phone and received a receipt via email, you still have to physically go in to the Outdoor Recreation office to register, which didn't open until 10am on Saturday. This was a small pain in the butt and cut into our time to head out for the day (we arrived late Friday night). This could be handled entirely via phone/email prior to arrival. For $20, it's a bargain. Really could have done without the helicopters, but the base mission is military stuff, not camping.

The location to Philly makes it quite convenient. The ladies who work MWR are certainly helpful and very kind. The campsite was ok for a few nights. However, while we were there for 5 nights, the shower/bathrooms were closed the whole time waiting to be worked on. We had paid for the week but left early due to shower situation. The pads are gravel and not level. There is a pretty pond with a grassy field on site great for walking your dog. I would certainly stay here again BUT the showers would have to be opened.

Previous comments accurate; good progressive driving instructions; locked bathrooms, yellow water. Glad to have reserved spot waiting for me arriving after hours.

Small facility close to the flightline. Dining facility is next door and it is on a busy road. There is a nice museum exhibit nearby. There was an air show this weekend so getting on base was difficult.

Its not bad, but at the time I was staying there, the bath houses were out of service. The sites are gravel sites with electric and water, but no sewer. There is a dump station nearby. Unless you have large water capacities or you will only be staying one or two nights, it may be a pain to hitch up and go dump your tanks every couple days. Another option would be to purchase a portable waste water tank and haul that to the dump station, which is what I did because I was staying there for a couple days. There is another military campground called "Range 14" right off the base which although on a shooting range, in my opinion, is better than than the one on base (it has full hookups) but people come to shoot their guns on the weekends and it can get loud.

We spent a week here and the site was very nice as we had a awesome view of Willow Pond. Close to the Base Exchanges. The only thing I was not happy was there is no sewer hook up but the dump station was very close.

The scenery in front of this campground can be picturesque although noisy due to location (near barracks and main road just behind sites). New D-Fac (that is chow-hall for old timers) being built next to the bathroom facility. I figured after the D-Fac Construction, they might clean up the campground area. Most campers are staying long term and keep place dusty since they seem to drive in and out of the unpaved dirt road in front of the sites.. Stayed during Labor day weekend so no troop movement. Bathroom was closed, no shower facilities, although Mr. Bob was available. Cannot expect too much from this campground but rental is available for kayaks and equipment at the MWR, just have to drive a mile. Fort Dix has a few good sites where they could have constructed better campgrounds and attracted campers whom would not mind paying.

This is the worst military campground that I have been! There is no 50 amp, no concrete pads. They need to remodel the whole campground at dislocation. The employees at this location are great however one of the male employees has no personality at all. The location is great however the directions are wrong.

OMG This place is one step up above Walmart. You pay 20 bucks for a secure armed by guards campsite with water and 30 amps/ I guess its good for a one nighter! Good thing we stopped at the BX first for a slice of pizza. The gate guard guard here did not ask abut weapons.

MWR Staff was friendly and gave great advice to navigate NYC. Willow Pond does not have internet but found a strong signal at Dunkin Donuts/ shoppette. Grass in the area was tall but heard it had rained for several days prior to our arrival. With only 8 spots at this camp availability is tough as I know I talked with 2 spots who are there for long term active duty. Did not use the bathroom so I can not comment on the cleanliness as others have. Great camp for short term stays just book in advance and you will have no problems. If I am in the area again I would definitely stay here again.

If I could rate Cleanliness/Hospitality a 0 I would have. When I contacted the MWR upon arrival I felt like I had interrupted their day. The only value to Willow Pond is the locality to Philadelphia. There are NO shower facilities and the "bathroom" facilities were so dirty I wouldn't have taken my dog in for fear of him catching a disease. There is no WIFI (even at the PX/Food Court - I did find WIFI at the Dunkin' Donut). There were NO picnic tables at the site and the picnic tables that were scattered around the open area adjacent to the pond were taken up by GIs that were demob (their barracks are immediately behind the FamCamp). I would NOT recommend this FamCamp except as a possible overnight stopover when there were no other campgrounds available.

A good stop over passing through New Jersey on our way North. Very few places to camp in Central New Jersey, so this is convenient. Picturesque setting looking out over Willow Pond. Only 30 amp electric and no sewer, but just fine for short stays. Easy access to excellent commissary/BX. Construction on the route inside the base getting to the park, but detour signs are fine until you reach 8th St. Go left onto 8th Street. We missed the turn into Willow, but at the opposite end of the park is a larger street to turn left into the park. Staff very helpful and friendly. We knew our assigned space so were able to get settled and then go check in.

This place may be one of worse experiences we have encountered at a military famcamp. Made a reservation only to arrive and find an RV in our site. Contacted MWR and a rep was sent over. Rather than put us in one of the sites that was empty and reassign the site that was occupied to the next arrival (no difference in sites, all are crap), we had to sit around for 2 hours while the owner of the RV was called to move it to another location. Half the sites were occupied by active duty, including the one I was assigned. After his departure we took possession of a site littered with trash and just for the final straw, a disposed condom. I hate to make such a blanket statement, but I am starting to be of the belief that active duty who use these parks as a housing hedge really do not appreciate the value of these parks as do older retirees. They really have not taken any effort to learn or understand RV park courtesy. They seem to come and go with trailer park mentality. $20 an night for 30amp and water. Should have found a local park using our good sam catalog.

We stayed here on our way north again. Although the site has no amenities it has location and a pleasant charm. Additionally the easy access to the Commissary, Exchange and the gas station more than makes up for the lack of "goodies". We will make every attempt to stay here again!

This is now Joint Base McGuire Dix Lakehurst. A very large base with many gates. If you have a site number, unhook and then check in at Outdoor Rec. Directions to famcamp from Route 68 Gate - after entering gate go around traffic circle and take first right onto 4th St. At first stop light/dead end take right onto New Jersey Ave. Take first left after church onto 8th St. Go approx 1 mile (past Firestation and VA clinic) and around curve (you will see campground on your left behind trees), taking left onto Willow Pond to site. Directions from Route 545 (Brown Mills Gate, on southside of base) - inside gate street turns into Texas Ave. At first stop light, take left onto 8th St. Take first right onto Willow Pond to site. Do NOT use Route 545/Wrightstown Gate(northside of the base only) coming into or out of the base in your rv. This gate has a 6000 pound limit and a 13'0" height restriction. If using this gate in your vehicle, once through gate take 2nd exit (Texas Ave) on the traffic circle. After passing Burger King/Express Station on the right, turn right at the 2nd traffic light onto 8th St. Take 1st right to Willow Pond. To Outdoor Rec from fampcamp - exit famcamp turning right onto 8th St. Approximately 1 mile (passing VA Clinic and Firestation)take a left onto Doughboy Loop. Passing Red Cross and pool, Outdoor Rec will be on your left. The ITT Office and Equipment Resource Center are in the same building. Yes, there are only 8 sites, but they do take reservations. Reservations are nice so you don't have to make the drive if there are no openings. Sites are decent with gravel pads but only 30A and water. We were here only for 4 nights, so not having sewer was not an issue for us and will use the dump station on the way out. Bring your water filter as they have problems with rusty water. Older restrooms, but no shower house or laundry. Very nice PX and Commissary! For $20/night we were happy with the sites for the security and distance to Philadelphia, Atlantic City and some sightseeing around the state. Some neighbors were active duty waiting for housing and were very friendly and helpful, others were here just for a few nights as we were.
