Great campground. Located close to beaches, downtown Biloxi, and entertainment. There is a new Fam camp being built so this one is lacking upkeep in some areas. Laundry room doubles as the mail holding area so some of the little space available gets taken up with mail. Staff here is great.
Great location. Facility is well maintained with a great staff. Bath house is cleaned a couple of times a week by private contractors. Laundry is $1 ea for washer or dryer.
This is our second stay at this facility. Both were off season so I don’t know how their lottery system works to get a site during peak season. I stayed in the pull through sites and they are a hike from the facilities ( which I prefer to use but, with full hookups...). This facility is very close to the beach and 20 miles from Assateague Island. Staff does an excellent job in returning calls and handling all your question....
Stayed two weeks. This is a well run Famcamp with what appears to be a few homesteaders. While I spent the entire time in overflow it was by choice as many sites opened during my stay. There are two small museums on the BMT (RTC) side worth the visit. GPS coordinates for the gate tell you that you have arrived about a mile before the gate. Don’t worry just keep heading down the road. This is an excellent base to...
As noted in previous comments this place is spartan. We stayed in the overflow area and did not go on the list for a regular site since we would only be staying a week or two and the wait for a full hookup site is over two weeks. The full-hookup sites are concrete pads and many of them do not slope so the accumulate significant water when it rains - and please don't squeegee your par in a house...
Small facility close to the flightline. Dining facility is next door and it is on a busy road. There is a nice museum exhibit nearby. There was an air show this weekend so getting on base was difficult.
Everyone from the security force to the exchange staff is polite and professional. Campground is well maintained. Between are visit the water connections were upgraded. New contact is Chris.Mason@navy.mil. He is very accommodating to our changing schedule. We use this as a stop over on our way to/from Assateague National Seashore. This trip the bathroom ran out of TP on Columbus Day weekend.
I agree with all the previous comments regarding Muriel, she is absolutely fabulous. We stayed at NWS on each leg of our journey from Ct to Md and back. The bathhouse / laundry facility is spotless. The base itself has limited services (no gas station etc.) but if you know this it is not an issue. Since our stays consisted of an arrival time of around 1600 and a 0800 departure the next morning we opted...
