The previous reply must have a beef with new management or someone. This place has improved tremendously since Larry and Vicki took over managing it. Slowly improving things. New electric posts at sites, not all done yet. New picinic tables at all sites, no more concrete benches and tables. All sites have new posts with boxes that they put the name of Reservation and check in, check out. WIFI has improved greatly from 2 years ago, yes it could...
Clean campground with nice paved sites. ATT cell was one to two bars, verizon is better in this area. WIFI at office area, seemed to work OK. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our two day stay and would stay again. A little pricey in my opinion. But, is open to public and does fill up on weekends and holidays.
As stated in other posts. I29 to Hwy34 is the best access, all 4 lane roads. Camp hosts and MWR employees all friendly. Nice overall campground and fair stay policy, rest of AF needs to look at their policy and incorporate most if not all the rules. Recommend making reservations, was 3/4 full when we arrived and weather was still cold. They do become full on a lot of weekends. So reserve to make sure you get a spot....
WOW!! Haven't stayed here in over 2 years, how nice to see the improvement. Bathhouse renovated, painted, and very clean. Grass is mowed and overall appearance looks great. New camp host Vicki and Larry were very pleasant to talk to and deal with. The hosts have their own phone to take you calls and reservations as listed below, call them directly, we made our reservation and were given site number over phone, on arrival had a reservation tag on...
We enjoyed our stay here. WSMR is quiet and relaxing place. Photos are still good. Called and reserved a site to make sure we had a spot when we arrived, employees are friendly, just could do better with knowing what sites are available. Only 4 of us there for the week. Only saw 1 maybe 2 long term occupants. Sites are all sloped backwards some and we needed to use 3" under the rear wheels to level MH. As...
Well, some things never change and probably won't. Homemade trailer still there going on 3 years, even with change in long term policy at both marina and Lauglin, told it's 90 days out for 24 hours, then return for another 90 with no waivers. New Force Support Chief has taken over and new manager is supposed to start on Jan 9. Sites 11-20 full hook up are now basically long term and were all occupied, fairly clean around sites, except...
I almost hate to post a review. The directions are good and I agree with not driving down to office, pull into new RV park and walk to office otherwise you will have to unhook to turn around. The new campsites are all level concrete pads and spaced out nicely. There are no homesteaders that I could see, however a couple long term over the winter months. Bathhouse was nice but could use a little cleaning, but I think...
There are 15 pull thru FHU RV sites 20/30/50 and 5 back in 20/30/50 and water sites. Bathrooms could use a good cleaning but not totally bad. Marina office/store is CLOSED on Mon, Tue, Wed and open 9-3 the other days in winter, it has very small selection of drinks and snacks, plenty of rental equipment available although it was cold while we were here. Campground Host is on site 6, but you won't see much of him and not...
We did not stay here do to the previous comments and didn't want to get drive all the way there in the RV to find that it would not be an enjoyable stay. However, we drove to the RV park in the car and checked it out. I also went into the office and had a nice talk with the Manager, Dave. We didn't go into the bathrooms, but the rest of the park was mowed and clean, can't...
Nice campground. 20 x 40 concrete pads, just started putting gravel between all the sites. Restrooms are clean and roomy. Laundry room clean with 4 washers and 8 dryers (I think, didn't look at price). New lower rates at least til Aug 31 maybe longer. Daily 15-20-25, Weekly 98-133-168, monthly 390-540-690 (military/retired-DOD-Guest). What a gem in the Mojave. Only about 10 sites occupied. Armament Museum is very well done, I enjoyed it. WIFI...
Enjoyed our stay, especially since on the ocean. Quiet area. We did see signs of homesteading and think they need to do some clean up around a few of the campers. Campground needs upgrades, everything works, just electric panels only have one plug in and are ancient. Hotel closed for renovations and like other poster check in is in trailer. Staff was very polite and helpful. Would stay again. Didn't use restrooms. Also...
Excellent campground. Price may be high for military campground, but since camping in the area is extremely high priced - $60 water & electric at state beach, this is great price for FHU. Nice double concrete pads. Free WIFI not that great - slow, you can subscribe online to get fast service, but didn't so can't tell you how it was. Did not use the bathhouse, but appeared clean. Lots to do in the area and...
This is a winter destination park for many. There were several sites available the whole time we were here. Quiet base, galley was good and cheap. Campers had pot luck get together for Christmas and was outstanding as well as very friendly campers, we enjoyed it alot. Gilbert is camphost in site 85 and does a great job and will visit with you. Facilities clean and sites are good. New sites are finished and...
Staff is still outstanding. Info packet at office when check in. Dec 17 is Christmas Dinner for campers at mirage club $2 a person. Wifi still slow but not to awful right now. Contracting is working on contract to upgrade wifi, Pam got the approval just waiting for a contract and vendor. Famcamp is only about 55% occuppied right now, plenty of sites to chose from. This is still our favorite famcamp that we have stayed...
Pulled in on Sat, office closed, there was one FHU site empty and 7 or 8 partial sites empty. Checked with a couple in partial sites to make sure they weren't waiting for a FHU and non were. So, we pulled right into a FHU site. There appears to be some changes going on here. Greg is retiring in March I hear, he is using some vacation time between now and then, so office is hit...
Not sure where the previous reviewer stayed or he had a beef with this place. I don't expect or even attempt to by rv products at the exchange. Commissary and exchange close to rv park and pretty nice if you ask me. Also went to liberty center (rec center) and found staff there very nice and helpful. The campground manager Kenny, and Cynthia were very friendly and helpful and provided packet of local attractions and maps....
