This is our second stay here and it was even better than before. There are lots of things to do in the area and what made this stay so great was the activities going on. They decorated the back part of the c/g and decorated for Halloween. They had a great carnival and hay rides that night. It was so much fun. The staff there are also great. New bathrooms/showers are great. Thanks. Will...
This is a good campground. Our major complaint is that where there is no cable tv - there is NO tv. It is impossible to get a signal for tv with antenna. The phone service is poor as well. But these things have nothing to do with the c/g.
This FamCamp is a great place to stay. Can't say anything bad about it. OKC has a lot of things to see and do and this is a great place to stay while doing them. Nice grounds for walking and picnicking, fishing and enjoying the sunset. Hosts are topnotch!! We have truly enjoyed our stay here and will return.
We've enjoyed another stay here at Kirtland and will no doubt be back. It continues to be a good place to be. Albuquerque holds a lot of things to see and do at times other than the Balloon Festival.
We stayed for 3 weeks here and cannot find anything bad to say about it. It's just a great place to be. We can't wait to go back again.
Great little FamCamp if you have to be in the area. Close to everything. If you want a quiet place to camp, it's great. Neat, clean and nicely run.
We enjoyed our stay at this FamCamp very much. The staff went overboard to be nice and helpful. We have never been met with such hospitality even though it was technically still winter when we got there. The showers were the cleanest we've ever seen. Can't imagine how anyone could complain about this place. We hated to leave but "they wouldn't let us live there". We left when they were getting ready for the summer season. Even...
We moved in today. We will be here for 30 days, so I'll comment again when we leave. We understand fully that it is still the winter season and there is no host - hence the 4 on hospitality. But so far we LOVE it. I mean it's in Colorado and at the USAFA no less. I hope we get to see everything the area has to offer in 30 days. NOTE: ...
We stayed in overflow 1 night then we stayed the rest of the time in the "new" gravel lot. We may have enjoyed the old site w/trees more, but I doubt it. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.
You state: "Winter rates valid October through April". We were there and wanted to stay in October but the campground was closed Oct - Apr yearly. Has this changed?
We stopped over here for a much needed stocking up. This part of the country is not filled with Military camps. After we left Robins we stayed in GA State Parks then in the ACOE Campgrounds at Clemson SC Lake Hartwell and Lake Lanier in Gainesville GA, Lake Allatoona Cartersville GA, then Ragland Bottom at Center Lake TN. These places are great if you want a good place to stay cheap. If you have a NP Senior Pass...
Just in case you get stuck like we did I want to share this with you: After the fiasco at Points West, Appling, we went as directed to Fort Gordon. Once you enter the gate, whether it be Gate 1 or Gate 2, it is still a loonnng drive to the "campground". If you go to register first then you have quite a trip ahead of you. This Post is HUGE!! The MWR folks were honest and...
We called and spoke with Ruth and she said they were full with the exception of a few sites with only electricity. She said that they do not take reservations that it was first come first served at all times. We were willing to go for that, after all it was a holiday weekend starting. When we arrived, we were greeted by Ruth and Larry and they were very helpful. They both told us they would check...
We spent one night only. Got in late the host was very accommodating even though they had no open sites helped us park on the grass and we spent the night and was on our way. Next time we'll make a reservation and plan to stay a while.
We enjoyed our stay here and it was a good experience. The campsite we had had a pole in front where we parked and everytime we pulled out it got hit. So we finally ties a flag to it to remind us that it was there. If you park there and there is a pole we highly recommend that you flag the pole for that reason. But you may not be as oblivious as we are. We stayed...
This one will always be #1 in our book. The only downside, if there was one, was having to change our electric from 30 to 50 amp 2 times. We did this because we could, minor inconvenience. Make a reservation and get on a concrete pad or if you are on the grass let them know you want to move asap. Not that there's anything wrong with it. We chose not to move. Watching the ships come and go is...
