Yep brand spankin new

I happened on this site by accident a couple weeks ago. I've had my 100% DAV for a while but never new any of this existed. The Mrs and I bought our mh last year and just started traveling around. So I'm just surfing the Internet and I find this site that's all about campgrounds on military installations. No one ever told me I was eligible to use them. Anyway we have our first mostly famcamp trip planned the end of April through may and are really excited.

Glad you found this website as it really is a goldmine of information. Have been using it for more than 10 years and the more you use it the more you love it. Larry Farquar is the man behind this and he does a great job keeping everything up to date and keeps us informed of changes and new FamCamps in the works. The reason he does such a great job is from folks like you and me who keep him informed of what we see and hear when we travel and stay in the FamCamps. Thanks guy's, you are right about a wealth of information here, I've spent the last week or so just browsing all the posts and learning from all the experiences of everybody on here. I'm not a young guy, 64, but that just means I'm old enough to know that I can learn from everybody else's experiences and knowledge.

Is there any way to let folks know about this benefit when they become eligible? Like I said I had no clue it even existed and I stumbled across this web site. When I found the web site I called to try and make a reservation at one of the famcamps and the lady there was so very helpful and walked me through everything. I had my VA id but that was it and didn't know I needed a military id or how to get one or what it was good for or where I could use it. I just wonder if there are other's out there that are like me that are eligible and don't know about this?

Word of mouth and web searches is all that we can do to spread the word. I've tried to get this website mentioned in some military retirement newsletters, but they never get published.
