I have been using Larry's webpage for years, but rarely stayed in military campgrounds.

I am a Major in the PA Air National Guard, have three grown children, a lovely wife, and a nearly teen still at home. Our "camper" is a 1973 GMC 4905 bus that I am almost done converting to a motorhome after 12 years. Moves, unemployment, and 2 deployments have had their impact on conversion progress.

Hopefully we will be able to visit Key West in November, and finally enjoy one of the "perks" of service.

I salute Larry for his selfless service to his fellow veterans for developing this site and keeping it up and running. One would think DOD would have done this years ago!

Hi Steve,

Glad to see you participating in the forums, and here's a belated "Welcome"!. Thank you for your service. We spent a few weeks at Key West (Trumbo Point) this past January and enjoyed everyday.

And then we'd have one fine mess on our hands. And more than likely out-of-date ... out of funding.

NO thanks, I'd vote for Larry every time on this one.

;) I agree. It's a wonderful thing that Larry maintains this website. I was sort of thrown in to being a FT RVer by virtue of my disability and all that came with it. Without the knowledge I've gained from reading and using militarycampgrounds.com, I don't know what I'd have done. Staying on the bases is one way that I feel safe and comfortable. Thank you for YOUR service, Larry. You're clearly a cool dude, and I appreciate all you do. I hope to be able to add a little value through my reviews and suggestions as time goes by, as well. Fourteen months later, and I'm still enjoying this unintended but interesting journey. :silly:
