I found this info on the Escapees fourm and thought I would share. Tried to send e-mail to Larry F with the info and couldn't:

Just wanted to mention this to those who have access to military RV facilities. My business trip this week took me to Camp Ashland which is an Army National Guard base just a couple miles north of I-80 and midway between Omaha and Lincoln, NE. It is a small base and very quiet when no troops are there for training. The base has 12 RV sites and some have 20 amp service. Each site has a concrete pad. The pads are not as long as my 37 foot Class A but longer than my wheelbase so I could park my unit on concrete. There is a water supply station but no water hookups at the sites nor is there sewer. Of the 12 sites, only one was occupied. The occupant told me the base does not charge any fee for the sites. There are 6 porta johns for the 12 sites and they are very clean. Sites are very spacious in contrast to two nearby commercial RV parks where it looked to me like units were packed in like sardines. I would utilize Camp Ashland if I was traveling I-80 or had a reason to spend time in that area. Although with 20 amp service I would need my generator if air conditioning was necessary. But you can’t beat the price.

Great tip. Have to try to remember this, (good luck) as we have to go back east in 2014 for DWs class reunion and will probably use I80.

Thanks for the info on this "secret" military campground. I suspect there's many guard bases that have small campgrounds. We learn of a new one every once and awhile.

I'll check this out and get it added to the website and the Directory software soon.

Thanks a million!
