Volunteer Maintenance Host Description of Duties
I. Introduction
This position of Volunteer Maintenance Host is located at the Navy Getaways (NG) operation of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) aboard Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. This position will provide services at Eagle Hammock RV Park in maintaining the park and facilities in a manicured, clean and orderly fashion for all park patrons to enjoy.

II. Major Duties & Responsibilities
The Volunteer Maintenance Host will ensure all the guests have a safe and memorable experience while staying at Eagle Hammock RV Park. They shall assist the parks guests in any way reasonably possible to assure our guests are adequately equipped with all services the park has available.
Maintenance Hosts must possess a pleasant personality and be able to communicate effectively with campground employees, hosts, and guests. Hosts should set the example of a model camper by practicing good housekeeping at all times in and around their assigned site and by observing all rules and regulations. He/she must be knowledgeable about camping, and know what campers need and expect at a first rate RV Park. Close attention to detail is a “must”.
Time commitment will be approximately 30 hours per week. All hosts will assist with special functions held in the park whenever needed. All volunteer hosts will work to obtain maximum safety and cleanliness of the park at all times, regardless of hours slated.
The main duties of the Maintenance Host will include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Mowing, weed eating, edging, trimming, blowing off concrete pads.
b. Landscaping with mulch, or other such products.
c. Placement of picnic tables, fire rings, etc.
d. Sowing grass, fertilizers, straw, etc.
e. Trimming trees, shrubs, and other vegetation as needed.
f. Repair of waterlines, electrical boxes, lights, etc. (minor repairs).
g. Picking up any trash, debris within the park.
h. Emptying fire rings.
i. Repairing facility equipment such as washers, dryers, lawn equipment, etc.
j. Changing out air filters to heating/AC monthly.
k. Duties will be limited to equipment available for use to perform the duties.
l. Other duties as assigned by office/management as needed.

Volunteers shall not perform dangerous duties that render them unusually susceptible to injury or to causing injury to others. Maintenance Hosts must be physically able to walk/bicycle the campground daily, stock restrooms, pick up litter, be able to lift up to 40 lbs., and assist with cleaning/maintenance needs during periods where MWR staff or appropriate host is not present.
The Maintenance Host will have access to equipment to perform various jobs. A golf cart/vehicle may be provided to assist with the aforementioned duties. Keys to facilities and vehicles must be returned when contract duties end. Host will be issued a campground shirt and/or name-tag to be worn only while on duty. All items will be returned to office upon completion of duty.

The Maintenance Host will receive a tour of the park along with information on park regulations. They will become familiar with all facilities within the park to enable them to better assist the guests and complete their job efficiently. Management and office will provide regular communication with all hosts for any updates and problems that may arise.
No drinking will be allowed during “duty hours” or while operating government vehicles/equipment. If you are found to be in possession of drugs or drug usage, your contract may be voided immediately.
All emergencies occurring in the park will be immediately reported to office personnel or manager.
Host will not act as enforcer, but should only attempt to correct minor infractions by politely reminding campers of regulations. If registered guest becomes abusive and refuses to comply with regulations, DO NOT PURSUE ANY FURTHER CONTACT WITH GUEST. Immediately contact Camp Host & Manager, and Security if necessary.
Maintenance host will NOT assign tasks/duties to other RV Park hosts or patrons.

III. Terms of Agreement
The Maintenance Host shall possess a mobile camper and shall reside in the park. Volunteer shall donate his/her services at Eagle Hammock RV Park in lieu of paying site rent. One full hookup site, including water, electric, sewer, cable, Wi-Fi, and concrete pad, will be assigned per volunteer position vacancy, NOT per volunteer (e.g. No extra site(s) for a vacancy filled by a couple).
This volunteer contract will continue for three (3) months or as stated, subject to the provisions set forth above. A two week notice will be given for early resignation. Upon mutual agreement, the contract may be extended at the discretion of Management. Excessive absence or failure to meet requirements set forth above is a basis for termination of the volunteer agreement and free site privileges. Hosts must vacate the site upon notice the volunteer agreement is ending. This contract is automatically terminated in the event the NAFI dissolves. Volunteer assignment may also be terminated at any time by either party to this agreement.
