HOT! would be an understatement! When we arrived at Nellis on Thursday June 14th it was 100% at 10 am. We stayed for a week and a day the lowest day time temp was 103 and it ranged up to the hottest day at 112. The coach handled it very well with our AC keeping it a mild 75 at all times, thank god I put in the extra insulation, but it kept us locked up either in the coach, car or ACed buildings during the day. After 9-10 at night it was ok to go and walk around. The park was GREAT and the people very helpful and went out of they're way to make you feel at home. Despite the heat we had a great time and my wife even won 1300 bucks playing the machines. I left plenty of brochures for the website and even dropped some at the BX. We are thinking of wintering there for a couple of months this year.

If you plan to be there in the winter better make a reservation now. They get pretty full in the winter.

Three years ago our favorite neice decided to elope to Vegas and took 17 of us with her. (Actually wife's sister's daughter and there is a big estrangement between daughter and parents.) I got the honor of walking her down the aisle. The only problem was this was a full formal wedding outside in the garden at Ceasars Palace at 11:00 am in July. I don't normally wear a tie. Here I was in a wool suite (I don't own any summer suites) with a stupid tie in heat of 110 degrees. Carrie says the only thing she remembers from her wedding day was how hot she was standing there and the sweat running down her legs. But I must say, she made a beautiful bride. (This really made my day since we never had any girls and I knew I'd never get this honor again.)

Vegas is my favorite place in the world but not in the summer months.

Thanks for the feedback about the A/C. Glad your stay was pleasant. Wintering there is decent. You will still have low temps around freezing. Each year we have to let the water trickle about 3 -5 days a year to stop the water from freezing. Day time highs are usually long sleeve or ligh jacket weather. Overall plenty to do and things to see other than spend your retirement $$ on gambling. Great buffets at most off strip casinos that are reasonable in price and watch for the monthly specials at the Station casinos.
See ya
