Wouldn't expect anything remotely resembling progress, let alone opening until earliest 2020 personally. We are stationed at Luke and drive by the Lot every day, will be here for next 2 yrs. If I see something will post something.

Thanks for the update and the "on-site" eyes to keep us informed.

NEWS FLASH! May 24, 2019
Good news Everyone.
I just received information from a reliable source at Luke AFB that the
contract for the NEW Famcamp construction was released last week.
The next step is a meeting with the contractor to set direction, timelines and set a completion date.

I will update here with any future information.

An admin/office trailer has been posted (along with a couple port-a-loo and wash stations) at the site for the camp. Hopefully actual construction work can be seen soon

OFFICIAL UPDATE: Luke AFB AZ Famcamp

I have seen that the area has been fenced off and a construction trailer and heavy equipment onsite.
The surveying markers are out within the area.

I have also received this information and pictures via the Deputy Civil Engineer at Luke AFB.
The new Luke AFB FamCamp has broke ground and estimated completion is now set for April 2, 2020
Here are a few pics and have no idea why the cow was there. LOL

Update Aug 2, 2019
Heavy equipment are all over the area of the new Famcamp leveling/grading the area. It looks as if the roadway in the campground will be a big oval but I may be mistaken and will update you as it take shape.
