We're staying at Patrick AFB for a few days. Not a bad place and they have a bunch of new FHU sites ready to open. I was talking to my neighbor today, a recent AF retiree. He said that because of the new sites, they are changing the length of stay policy. The new policy is you can stay for 180 days. If I see Kathy in the office I'll ask but that's the scuttlebutt.

I will Larry. I was also told you can leave for two days and come back for another 180 days. Sounds like the perfect recipe for "homesteading." Scuttlebutt also says riverfront sites are going up to $900+ per month. I'll try to confirm with the office. I can see some relaxed length of stay rules during the summer, especially with all the newly constructed sites. I don't think they can build enough spots to take care of the snowbird invasion.

Confirmed with the host that the length of stay permitted is 180 days, at least 2 days out and can start another 180 day stay if space is available. The host said there will be no rotation this winter season. I can see where the dry camping area used to be is now FHU sites. Riverfront sites are $30 a day year round and $810 per month. Everything else is a standard site. $22 a day May - Oct and $595 a month May - Oct. $24 a day Nov - April and $650 a month Nov - April.

Not happy to read this as it looks like another FamCamp is doing the Private Campground thing! Some PPA RV parks in the area cost less than this, so not sure what they are thinking.
