This my wife and my first time ever camping together. We were celebrating our 18th anniversary that weekend and we had a blast. It was way better than we pictured. It's like you're in the center of everything. You have the beach 2-5 mins to your east. You have the river 30 seconds to you west. There's a dining facility if you don't want to bring any food with you. The commissary and BX are 5 mins away. The restrooms were excellent. But, the best part about the entire experience was the attendants. They were the nicest people I've ever met. Anything we needed they provided and if they didn't have it they would send us in the right direction to get it. We like it so much we are taking our kids there this weekend (10-12 June 2011). You have the river for fishing and the beach for relaxing, what more could you ask for.

This is our favorite campground, the views are the best, the hosts are great, all hookups work great except no WiFi. The location cannot be beat especially for families, there is so much to do and is close enough to Disney World for a visit there. The neighbors are great; everyone is friendly. The bath house has everything you need but could use a little attention especially to get rid of a carpenter bee infestation, the base is great and very clean and not very busy. We are headed west but will defiantly visit again when we are in the area.

W.R. left this review using the Directory software: - We visited at Spring break. The new dining hall policy has more retired in the facility than active duty. A VERY upscale experience for us in military dining. The park is relatively full with almost all the full hookups taken. Lots of families here who appear to have been here a good while. The rabies policy is DEFINITELY excessive and requires a new level of documentation to be presented at check in. Our statement that we had them was not sufficient, they had to be "presented". And this was for "indoor cats. The park is "rig wash friendly" which we are in bad need of. The Camp is clean, well run, and has a lot of kids. Power, water, and sewer are excellent. Laundry is 75 cent for both washing and drying cycles. reasonable BX and Commissary. WIFI doesn't work for us (space 24) and the small arms range can be really ANNOYING and STARTLING when firing happens without notice. The Patrick Dining Hall is excellent in quality, reasonable in price, and open all meals to retirees.

First time to this park. Hosts do a excellent job. Place is a bit crowded because sites were put in before rigs got so big - that why the 4 on Facilities. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and went right into a partial hookup site. On Tuesday when we left there were several FHU sites available as the snow birds were fleeing north.

A great place with nice folks running the show. I was a little disappointed though given comments that I had heard about the views etc. The views are great if you walk along the bank. I was surprised that the front row were all back-ins, ergo no view from inside the rig (yes, from the patio of the front row). This is a quibble and certainly not the fault of anyone of recent years. We'll be back. Wish the wifi worked and a neighbor commented that the showers were a little too communal (we use our own). There was a lot of work going on so maybe these are all being fixed. I'm usually good at land navigation but I missed the truck entrance arriving and departure...some signage to the park would be nice.

One change to the directions, now when you enter the truck gate you just go straight to S Patrick Rd. No turns on west tech road anymore. This is a fantastic FAMCAMP, we really enjoyed ourselves and you cannot beat the location it is near everything. About 40 minutes from Kennedy Space Center and an hour and fifteen minutes to Disney or Sea world. Our campsite was about 10 feet from the banana river which made for fantastic scenery. The neighbors on the campsite and the staff are excellent and very friendly. It would be nice if you could do camp fires there and if there was more of a central clubhouse or something similar. I have read some comments about the firing range which is strangely in the middle of the campground but is for small caliber weapons and is not very loud my two and three year olds did not even notice. We will certainly be back, this is one of our favorites now.

If WiFi worked I would have given the place all 5 stars. The last time we stayed here we were dissapointed but not this time. New Camphost who were great and the dining facility has opened to Retirees. We did not have a full hook up site, but that is OK. We have a blueboy, and the campground also have them for campers to use. We were lucky, staying over the holidays, so the firing range was quiet. Famcamp employees, host and security all very friendly. Great place to stay at a great price.

G.B. left this review using the Directory software: This time of year, spending a week or more in overflow is normal before any chance of getting hookups. Overflow is a small grassy field behind park. Since I didn't get hookups I can't comment about park.

J.K. left this review using the Directory software: Spent 5 days in dry camp. Site was adjacent to a FIRING RANGE?! I couldn't believe there was an active firing range surrounded on 3 sides by campsites. We were about 30 feet from the firing line ..close enough to hear the brass hitting the ground. After about 2 days of live fire, my wife stopped taking cover every time there was a burst of gunfire. On my 5th visit to camp office I finally found it open for business. Staff friendly, camp hosts excellent. Wi-fi was down and there didn't seem to be any effort to get it fixed. Golf course undergoing renovations.

Relatively small CG, but great location for the Atlantic coast and the Space coast. Dry camp area is easy to access, and close to the dump station. Hookup sites are a bit tight, especially some with trees on the corner. Bathhouse is old, but clean and functional. Camp Host Jim is excellent, and takes the job seriously. FamCamp staffer Ken is great. Dining hall is superb, as others have reported.

We have been here for 10 days now. When we arrived we were placed in over flow with no hook ups. We stayed in over flow for 8 days and were moved to a 30 day full hook up (spot 3) next to the water front. We could have had a partial hook up site in 3-4 days. This is a very nice place to enjoy the warm Florida winter. Lots of activities to choose from on base and off. We have enjoyed dining at the Riverside Dining Hall (Chow Hall) on base. Outstanding facility and staff!

Outstanding facility and staff! I am active duty military and was able to make a reservation 2 days prior to arrival and get a spot! I thought for sure when we got there we would have a less than desirable site but I was pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. Our site had full hookups and backed up right to the water. It was amazing and the kids loved going to the river "beach." Overall, Patrick AFB can't be beat. The messing facilities were great and affordable. The campground is adjacent to a park with a small pier, kid rock climbing wall and playground. Base security was the best and friendliest I have ever seen. We came in on New Years Day and left on a Sunday. Both days it took about two minutes to open the truck gate for us after calling. Enjoy your stay. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Everybody can now eat in the mess hall. Dinner tonight for two was $10.00. A relatively small investment could make this the premier Famcamp on the east coast. Still a great bargain with sunsets 2nd only to Key West.

I am staying here till the 26th and I can tell you that I love this Famcamp. This my first visit and I will be back. The fishing in the intercoastal for catfish (hook & release) is great. I have seen the manatees swim by as I fish. Park is clean and well kept by the host staff. Pads are level and hookups are good. No CATV but great WIFI. If you never have been here call the camp for directions and bring pet rabies certificates they will be checked.

This is the first time I have camped on Patrick. Scott was very helpful and the site and hookups were outstanding. I was only woken up once with range firing at 0645. By the way, once you get off the Pineda causeway onto A1A it is only .9 miles to the truck gate. (But you can do a u-turn at the main gate).

I had the best experience at this campground. The directions were great and Pinkerton man Tony was so helpful when I first arrived. The FAM CAMP staff was wonderful, especially Jimmie the host and Scott who checked me out. I am sorry I had to leave early because of knee. I was traveling alone with my 2 PUGS and felt so safe. It was quiet and I saw K9 unit patrolling frequently. I will visit here again. The campground was the cleanest I have ever seen. I enjoyed watching the search and rescue training exercises esp the parachute drop into Banana river. The small arms fire did not bother me..it is the sound of freedom to me (qualification range near campground).

Love this campground! Wonderful waterside sites. Out of the way from the main base which is OK with us! Next to the firing range, OK with me but Rocky (the dog) wasn't happy!) But we all need to remember that the primary mission of any military base is NOT the campers! Great MWR staff and camp hosts! And the price!!! All of that said, the new wifi system needs to go! The rates have gone up $2/day and the system is worse than dial-up. Can't get on and if you do, very very slow. Would prefer the system other campgrounds have gone to where each camper pays for wifi if they want it. Very cheap at $22.00/month and very fast!
