They have lowered rates from $25 down to $22 I believe and give another $4 off for Golden Age Pass. Figures may be off a dollar or so but it is a decent price. Also, I think the mess hall is open to retirees though I haven't eaten there.

Constant progress being made. Grass being planted, still free firewood and Golden Age Passport accepted. Cable TV included in the price. WiFi planned, as is a campground store and clubhouse plus 16 more FHU sites. $12 a night is a bargain anywhere but close to downtown Savannah is a steal! The Army is getting this one RIGHT!!!

Not much has changed since our last visit. The dam had broken and was under repair so the pond was very low. My 6 yr old grandson was very disappointed that he couldn't go out in the pontoon boat. Free firewood, friendly crowd, spacious sites, and very quiet. Close to I-75 but about 25 miles from Moody AFB. Civilian stores, fuel, RV dealers, restaurants, outlet mall withing 3 miles.

New FREE laundromat, new paved roads. Great site for an RV park and ship watching. I will write my congressman about the wind. It seemed to be coming from the north so it might have come from Washington, then again probably not since it was cold air and not hot air! Great bargain!

Everybody can now eat in the mess hall. Dinner tonight for two was $10.00. A relatively small investment could make this the premier Famcamp on the east coast. Still a great bargain with sunsets 2nd only to Key West.

We spent our first winter in KW and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We'll be back in November. A couple of things that would be nice additions at Sigsbee. An easily accessible wash rack for RVs and a place to change oil in RV generators. A real pain to have to go to Boca Chica to do a 10 minute oil change. We found it far easier, healthier, and cheaper to just ride our bikes into...

Great campground for relaxing, kicking back, bicycle riding, touring Savannah. Cable TV will be nice as it is heavily treed. $5.00 discount for Golden Age Pass holders and FREE firewood. We stayed two nights a week ago and will definitely be back for an extended visit.

We didn't stay but drove thru the park while staying at Pelican Roost. The only thing I could see wrong was the HUGE sized gravel they used for the road. It looked like it would be next to impossible to ride a bicycle on it. A little out in the boonies, but a great facility.

The "homesteaders" trailers mentioned by an earlier poster are actually MWR rentals scattered throughout the park. In the summer they are all placed on the front row of the main (treed) side of the campground. I was in space #23 and got satellite reception with my automatic dish by turning on the TV and receiver as I entered the park and could still get a picture. I then backed up and moved around a bit on the...

We were there for about a week in April. Great location, view, base, and facilities. I only have a couple of comments regarding issues that confused me. 1. I think the dogs outside and unattended is enforced a bit too strictly. I was outside reading the paper and went in to get a cup of coffee refill. I had not gotten back to the coffee pot and the "dog police" was at the door telling...

We just drove thru while in the area while staying at Pelican Roost. A beautiful campground with spotless care given to the buildings and grounds. Only drawback was the location so far out in the middle of nowhere. I imagine there is a mosquito or two in the area also. Some previous poster said there shouldn't be any playground as the campground is for retirees. I think if they read the regs, the campgrounds are...

When we arrived it was pouring down rain and the only site available had a lake for the patio area. We spent the night in a large parking lot adjacent to the Famcamp and picnic area. The area appeared to be clean, well-kept, and quiet. There was one site that had a concrete pad but the electric pedestal was not working so we elected to stay in the large parking lot so we could run the generator and...

Unlike the previous poster I saw no problems with the roads. I had no problems navigating the campground or the roads to it. Additionally, I saw nothing unsafe or in a hazardous state and saw nothing that would cause the campground to get an "unsat" on an ORI. Sewer hookups would be nice, but there is a dump station on site. The restrooms were locked and the MWR office was closed for training, but we didn't need the...
