It has been my experience that there is a lack a decent reviews for most Fam-Camps so I am doing a review for every one I stay at. If you are looking for a RV resort, keep on looking as this is not it. However, if you are looking for a decent place to camp near multiple attractions, this is it! The streets and pads are gravel and in decent shape. Sites are nicely spaced and there is a central ramada with propane grills. There has been no recent rain so it is VERY dusty right now. There are no reservations accepted unless you are on military orders. This years camp host was very friendly and helpful. He is active guard but answers his phone anytime he is needed. Train runs nearby but was not a huge distraction or noisy. Dump Station is along side of the road as you go into or out of the camp which is very convenient. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry were open and were VERY clean. As others stated, Verizon signal was very good. We spent one night in the campground and one night in the overflow. Overflow is 6.7kM from the fam camp and was very quiet. Don’t count on overflow as the area is also used for ANG training. We saw lots of Elk near the overflow area and lots of turkey tracks in the soft dirt. Overall I would recommend this others but would recommend having a backup plan as it fills up quick.

We hesitate to give a good review - others will find out what a neat place this is to stay, either for the night or longer. Our week's stay turned into 11 days and even then, we were reluctant to leave. The gate personnel are some of the friendliest and most helpful we've met. Downsides are the dusty roads and the trains - this is a busy east-west corridor. But w/windows closed because of cool temps, we were never bothered. When we were there, they were still looking for a host for this season. This will be a definite stop again in the future. FYI, the post office is located at the Pilot Truck Stop across the interstate.

Pine View RV park was closed today due to the tornado that struck at 5:30 AM this morning. The camp is without electricity, many trees have been downed, rv's in the storage yard have been turned over and the camp is closed. Some RV's in the campground were damaged but no one was hurt. Andy and Nancy, the camp hosts, were there for everyone! The area is totally distressed. Call before arriving, keeping in mind, that you will probably have to make other arrangements if you are headed that way, at least until next Spring.

Will definitely come back!!! 15 mins from Flagstaff, less than 90 mins from Grand Canyon, Camping World right outside base and truck stop at the exit. Basic amenities include very, VERY clean bathrooms, showers, laundry, and dump. There was also a hose & long handle brush set out for washing vehicles, walking sticks and corn hole game available to anyone. Nothing else on base except a small exchange run out of a truck. The hosts were wonderful to work with!!! I called ahead to make sure they had open sites. They saved a large site for us, knowing we had a 40' 5th wheel. There were other open sites when we arrived, but nice knowing we had a site we would fit in! No sewer, but you can ask hosts if you can drain your gray water. We stayed a month and if we needed to stay longer there were sites available. Read the attachment with updated info and since you can't make reservations, just communicate with the hosts and you'll be good to go!

This is a small campground on a small Army National Guard facility. The location is excellent for visiting the local sites including the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Sedona and Flagstaff. Very affordable and easy to access from I-40. The camp host, Eric, lives and works on Camp Navajo. This is not a resort, it is a campground, the sites are gravel and the campground road is dirt. Reservations are Not accepted. The Camp Host highly recommends checking availability at www.cnmwr.org rather than calling. All Campers must register immediately upon arriving in the campground either at site 9 or by using the website. Campers are NOT permitted to register on the website PRIOR to arriving. Cash or checks made payable to State of Arizona. Both Verizon and ATT phone and data service was very good. The gravel road to the campground was good. A water truck came through during our stay to keep the dust from the road down. The train noise was very minimal. No Train whistles. We enjoyed our 4 nights here. We would definitely try to get a spot here again if we are in the area. Restrooms were closed during our stay due to covid restrictions.

Reconnoited Camp Navajo while in the vicinity, and was impressed with the location and amenities It had recently rained, but the roads were okay for a 2-wheel drive vehicle. No rough spots. Not a high-end RV spot, but beautiful and affordable. Will definitely stay there this season. The site was not yet operational for the season, but were allowed to look around.

We arrived at Pine View after we left Fort Tuthill in the rain. Fort Tuthill's hotel clerk actually recommended Pine View. We planned on staying 4 days but ended up staying almost two weeks. The Camp Hosts are just outstanding, Steve and Audrey will bend over backward to ensure you stay is the best it can be and they are very knowledgeable of the local area. There are no sewer connections but there is a dump station (it would get all 5's if they had full hookups). Plenty of space between sites so you will not be crowded regardless of the site. The bathrooms and laundry were the cleanest we have seen in over 3 years of fulltiming (military, national parks and commercial campgrounds). You do have fire rings and wood is laying all over due to a tornado a few years ago (one of the few military campgrounds that you can enjoy an evening fire). Our Verizon card worked great as did our dish tv. Steve and Audrey are continually upgrading the facilities, with a self help gazebo with a new propane BBQ. They brought in an ice bag storage unit so they could offer bags of ice for about $2.00. They also brought in mountain bikes to rent. The warm days and cool nights, plus the attractions in the Flagstaff area warranted our longer than planned stay, plus Grand Canyon was only 50 miles away. We stayed here in a 36 foot motor home.

Very easy to get to from I-40 and a good spot to explore the Flagstaff and Sedona area. When entering the gate stay to the right where they let the large trucks in. We found the barriers tight going in and out with just the truck with dullies. The guards let us us the truck entrance and exit the whole time we were here. As a previous poster said they do take security very serious and did take a quick look inside of our rig. Nothing was asked about beer or alcohol but the guard did say that no weapons are allowed on base and there is no storage facility for them so be aware of that. Very quite park that is has very clean facilities. The dump station is close by and easy to use. The camp host, Steve & Audrey do a great job and have a lot of info on the area. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back next year.

We stayed here for 1 week while we were tourists around the area. It's close to Flagstaff and Rte 66 which is great. It's close to the Grand Canyon & Williams for the train ride to the Canyon. But the best thing is the RV park itself, what a unique experience. It is in the middle of nowhere. It is dusty and would be muddy in the rain. It should be quiet but you can hear trains and highway noise at night. This little camp is a jewel in the rough. There are no sewer hookups but the dump is not too far away. It has a clean bath house and a laundry room next to the men's room, and they are kept very clean and warm when warmth is important. It is dark at night and you can see all the stars. There are lots of places to walk and take a look at the past as this was a Prisoner of War Camp in 1944- 46 housed with Austrians. We loved the fact that we did not know anything about it and while we were out walking in the wood, we literally stumbled upon the information. We had no trouble getting our 47' MH into a back in site. If you like to get away and commune with nature this is the place to go. It was during hunting season that we went and there was evidence of lots of Elk very close to our doorstep daily. It was great fun and we will be back.

We were worried if there would be any spaces available for our week's stay. However, the campground never got above 50% occupied during our visit. Nice, small campground located in the pine trees. Good location for local sightseeing and the Grand Canyon. Camp hosts were very nice and helpful. They were constantly in the campground keeping it clean. Restrooms and showers were very clean. I thought it funny that they charge an extra $5 to use the dump, even for registered campers. Even funnier is the $5 charge for trash, but there's no trash cans or dumpster in the campground. The nearby noisy trains were an annoyance.

Camp host Vicky and George are super. They keep the showers and laundry areas the cleanest we have seen. Since this is a no sewer hook up site these areas see lots of use. The sites are gravel and small there are a few sites that will fit big rigs. Very rural and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

We stayed there going to CA and coming back east from CA in September, for 2 nights each time. George and Vickie were very gracious hosts as many have already said! I only wish that they were open after 10/1 and a little before 5/1. It’s a very pretty and quiet (trains are really NO problem) location. I found it difficult to get the OTA tv stations while on the NE side of the of the park, (probably trees) but on the west side, I had no problem. Satellite worked fine in both places. We didn’t use the laundry or bathrooms, but they appeared to be okay. Other than no sewer hook ups, it’s a great place to “chill out”!

Great place to stay...visited Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. Vicki and George are excellent, welcoming, and informative Camp Hosts. Loved our site...our ‘front yard’ faced the woods and had a creek running through it! Definitely on our list of places to return to....?

A.H. left this review using the Directory software: Really a great stopover, cooler temps up high and a easy, short trip to the Canyon, Sedona and other destinations. Rig maintenance a short (2 mile) trip away. Not crowded (only four rigs) and wildlife watching from your site.

We would have liked to stay here, but they were still closed for the winter. Although, the weather was great. We did stop by for a look and liked the campground. It looks quiet and relaxing, mixed in with the trees. The roads and sites are gravel. This isn't a fancy "RV Park", but a nice campground. We'll try to come back during the summer, when we can stay here.

This campground is within Camp Navajo, 12 miles west of downtown Flagstaff with easy access off Interstate 40. It is located at the edge of a ponderosa pine forest about a mile from the main gate. This would ordinarily be a quiet setting but the nearby train tracks have a heavy volume of traffic. Even with a fan on for white noise, you can hear and feel the rumble of the locomotive engines. No train whistles. The sites and interior roads are gravel. The sites are spaced far apart, providing a degree of privacy. The bath house appears brand new. Each site has water, and 50, 30, and 20 amp electric connections. No sewer hookup. The dump station is located at the campground exit but the outbound lane is blocked by parked army vehicles. There is no commissary on this base and the nearest thing to an exchange is a trailer equipped with a small selection of items. This is a National Guard training base is often empty except for a small admin staff and security personnel. You need a permit from the fire department for a campfire. This permit requires you to “clear the ground down to mineral soil for a distance of 15 feet around the campfire.” You are also required to have a shovel but they waived that for me since I promised to use garden hose to extinguish my campfire. If you are satisfied with a remote location with little or no amenities and no sewer hookups, this campground is adequate. In my opinion, it is nicer than the campground at Fort Tuthill which we visited while we were here.

Stayed about 10 days over the 4th of July 2011. When we entered a civilian security officer glanced around inside our coach and wished us a nice stay. Security? well I was only asked to show my driver license to gain access. Security personnel were friendly and professional. Camp hosts were great and In fact all the campers were really friendly. There was a review that said "Beer not allowed on base" which is not correct. We were invited to the club on base and had a wonderful potluck on the 4th of July. The depot is still cleaning up in some areas from the tornado last year and making improvements to the camp ground. Lots of room between camp sites. Great place to use as a base from which to visit the Flagstaff area.

Thanks you George and Vicki! Were welcomed immediately upon arrival, and were given a great briefing on the campground. Restrooms were delightfully clean and well-maintained. Campground is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Small and rustic, a true value...mostly because the hosts care about their guests enough to make your stay a true pleasure.

Spent the 8th, 9th and 10th of June at this little gem. Met camp host Andy who gave me a through rundown of the campground, base mission and "must sees" of the surrounding area. He is a fountain of wisdom. Had a little problem with a nose bleed caused by the 7000 plus altitude and 15% humidity and could not get it plugged. Was en-route to the Flagstaff Medical Center and went by to discuss location with Andy. He suggested I try the on base Fire Department and see if one of the on-duty EMTs might be able to help. Wife drove us there and we were met by the most friendly and knowledgeable men, Tony and Carlos, that immediately gave up their ball game to work on me. After about 1-2 hours of work and constantly monitoring blood pressure, I was cured. Can not say enough good words about these two men. They are truly a credit to their profession. More on the campgrounds...long sites, great bathrooms with laundry, great water taste and pressure, good electric. Gravel roads allow a little dust, but folks drive very slowly so this is no problem. The clear 40 degree mornings were amazing with the sweet smell of pine trees in the air. Not knocking Ft Tuthill, but after touring there was more than sold on Camp Navajo for any future visit to the area. Thanks Andy, Tony and Carlos. Some train noise at night if one sleeps with windows open, as we did, but not a real problem. Otherwise, very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views of the stars at night.
