Returning back this week, the late winter snowfall in the Catskills forced the facility to shutdown the above-ground water delivery system to avoid freezing. There had to be a quality check of the restored water delivery system prior to use at the facility. This translated to no water for both weekend stays. However, the Army fire department down the road can provide water to top off fresh water tanks if needed. Again, no water at the RV campground, including restrooms and RV sites.
Interesting visit this off-season at the Round Top Rec area. Was sheduled to site 6, but that RV site was more than 20 degrees slope. Even with five inches of blocks under the front jacks, and lifting the front tires as much off the ground, could not get level. Moved to 28, but 27 is also much more level, too. StarLink was 94Mbps download/20Mbps upload. T-Mobile exceptionally weak, one bar, with speeds of 1.2Mbps download/0.7Mbps upload. Over the air TV channels were sparse, with signals at 94 channels, but only twelve video channels and three language-only (Spanish/Chinese/Korean) came in clear enough to be useful. Noticed discounts for September/October 2024 for mid-week cabin rentals. This off-season opportuniteis for discounted cabins, which are posted in media uploads. Beautiful here with the leaves changing.
