This was my second time staying here. After my first visit in June of 09, I complained to the MWR folks about homesteaders. They park alongside their RV's (which makes ruts in the grass and you have to listen to an engine is running directly outside your window). I was told that rules were in the works, One year later still no rules. Also this year had a bonus, yellow rusty water. The CG still has homesteaders; in fact one is a relative of the MWR guy who made my reservation. The homesteader next to me had a washing machine set up behind his trailer and 4 vehicles all parked next to his trailer or across from it, so no view of the pond for me. All I got to see was drying laundry and cars. He also was using the power from the adjacent lot. On the other side the homesteader had patio bricks, a cord of wood (there are no fire pits) and a fridge outside. It’s obvious that these homesteaders like collecting BAH of $1167 (E-1 no dependents) to $2139 (E-6 w/dependents) and only paying $400 a month for a camp site. MWR needs to clean up the campground and set some ground rules. Otherwise the CG will always just be a trashing trailer park next to a beautiful lake.
