Our second time at Weston Lake and not to be our last. Nice Rec Area with plenty of woods and common areas in a quiet location. CG is well laid out with lots of space and grass between sites. Sites are very level concrete pads with large patio area, each with picnic table, BBQ and fire ring. FHUs are modern and function well. Check in at the rec area office was smooth, staff friendly and professional. While summer season...

For $35/nite this place is clearly not worth the cost – no bathhouse, no picnic table, tight spaces; you’re basically paying for a level concrete pad with full hook-up and nothing more. Close access to very small commissary and mini-mart style PX/gas station combo. After staying in numerous military FAMCAMPs, I agree with a previous reviews- the price increase is NOT justified- 20 bucks/nite would be more appropriate. We stopped here as an overnighter to resupply, refuel after a...

What this campground has going for it is location! It is right in the heart of Monterey giving outstanding access to local sights and activities. Otherwise the campground is rather average, and a bit over-priced. Most RV sites are short in length and our site required some creative leveling. Since it is surrounded by a golf course, I noticed some sites were within range of stray golf balls. Also the campground is situated next to the commercial airport and...

What we have here is a California National Guard camp. Lots of cool old buildings circa 1920’s and 30’s. Caution; You will never make it through the very tight barriers at the main gate so enter the camp using the right hand lane; the guard will open the sliding gate. Leaving is no problem through the barriers. Check-in at the billeting office (immediate left after clearing the main gate). The small campground is very nice gravel road and sites,...

Smaller CG with older facilities and hook-ups. Park manager was friendly, professional and accommodating. Office hours are 0830-1200 and 1400-1600 weekday (closed weekend so weekend check-in is with a camp host). Call a day or two ahead of time to determine availability. Park was generally clean, the interior campsites were well spaced level and had concrete patio pads with tables and/or chairs with umbrella. The exterior sites were on an asphalt parking lot very close to the flight line...

As others have noted and note to be repetitive - this is an excellent military campground. One tip to offer: The base Library is amazing and has a HUGE selection of DVD movies. Almost any movie you can think of is there. The Library offers a temporary library card so you can check out movies (5 at a time) or books. Since the campground does not have WIFI, movies from the library are a nice alternative. Library staff are...

Overall a really nice CG with mostly shaded sites, lots of grass. All sites are gravel and level, most are well spaced with good FHU connections. As previously noted some site hook-up are on the passenger side, so need long hoses and elec. cords. Plenty of dry camping overflow space ($10)- so if you need a safe stop don’t worry about availability. Caution - Larger rigs will have difficulty entering base thru Gate 1 (Randal Ave) – the chicane...

The base of WSMR is in a very expansive and desolate desert, surrounded by numerous weapons test ranges. The small campground is very nice with great views of the mountain range. Excellent hookups well positioned. Concrete picnic pads have a large shelter covering providing some relief from the intense sun. Check-in was easy; Anthony at the Outdoor Rec office was very accommodating. The post has all basic amenities. The Frontier Club is convenient and serves a great breakfast and...

Pretty nice campground within a larger recreational facility that offers a man-made beach, canoe/kayak/paddleboard rentals, fishing etc. The RV and tent camping is off to the back side of the area so fairly quite and secluded and nicely spaced apart. Site were level and concrete pad with ample room with a concrete patio, and picnic table. The hook-up station was in good condition and even lighted. Bathhouse was also clean, and well kept. To check in, first go to...
