Alaska - Ft. Richardson

Heading to Alaska next year. Anybody stayed at the Ft. Richardson Fam Camp? For reasons unknown it doesn't show up as a campground on this website. Elmendorf shows up - Richardson doesn't. Just curious if it is still open? Any other suggestions for things not to miss while in Alaska? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it closed and they are building housing there on the site.

One of us is confused... ::)

Information on Black Spruce RV Park at Fort Richardson, Alaska is listed on this website. Click here for the web page.

Glass Park RV Park at Fort Wainwright in Alaska recently closed to make room for additional base housing. Although closed, information is also still available on the web site.

Let me know if I have my facts wrong.

Larry,
I think I was wrong. I was refering to Ft. Wainwright closing. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Fort Rich and Elmendorf AFB are connected and basically are back to back. You can drive into one and come out the other. Elmendorf AFB has the Commissary and BX/PX and has the better RV lodging according to a new friend I met Golfing at Eagle Glenn Golf Course at Elmendorf AFB. I believe he told me it was $16.00 a night with hook ups. Are you fishing, golfing, or just enjoying the sights?
Both are basically located in Downtown Anchorage.

Larry - I must be losing it. I could have sworn that Fort Rich didn't show up when I was looking for it the other day. But I see it now. Maybe I was expecting it to be shown as "Fort Richardson" instead of "Black Spruce." Sorry for the false alarm. Thanks to all for your responses.
