Commissaries open?? was created by monkey44
Just curious if the commissaries are open, and well stocked. We haven't been to one in a couple months. How are the commissaries operating - distance shopping and entry, like other markets???

Specifically, McDill or NAS-Jax as we're bout half-way between those two. Thanks M44

Can't tell you much about the Fort Gordon commissary. They are restricted to active duty and their dependents from 8 AM until 1 PM. We tried to go last week but at 12:45 the line was from the front door to the side of the building....down the side of the building...and wrapped around to the back of the building. And they were only letting so many in at one time but I don't know what the number was because we said screw it...picked up our prescription refills, tapped the PX for a couple of rolls of TP and some mouthwash.....and went down Tobacco Rd to Bi-Lo.

Here at Charleston SC, retired allowed in the commissary only on Saturday and Sundays. Must wear a mask and they are limiting the number of people in at a time. LONG lines to get in during the morning. About an hour's wait in line. Stocked okay, except for beef.

We no longer go the the commissary during these restrictions. Off base stores are easier, faster, and about the same price.
