Camping on Military Base

I just have a question. I served from Dec 1970 to Feb 1975 discharged honorable. Not disabled did not retire just served. I cant camp on any military base even tho I served my country. Am I right or can you tell me how I can camp on base?

You are correct, unless you have a service-connected disability, received the Purple Heart, or were a POW.

Use of MWR facilities (includes campgrounds) is primarily for active duty, retired military, and DAV. Although, there are a few other categories that are eligible. However, military campgrounds are not a benefit provided to the typical veteran.

This article includes copies of the applicable regulations on who is authorized to utilize MWR facilities.
