Length Restrictions

We are trying to make a decision about buying either a 37' or 40' Class A RV. We know that the 40' RV we are looking at is actually 40' 8". What are the length restrictions for military bases? How strict are they?

There's not really a length "restriction". However, many military campgrounds are not setup to handle larger rigs. If known, there's a Yes or No setting on each campground's listing marking if that campground is "Big Rig Friendly".

We have a 40'+ motorhome and have been to most military campgrounds. So far, I'd say there's about 25% of the ones we've visited that can't fit a 40' rig.

The length issue can also be a problem in State and Federal campgrounds. It's just something we accept, live with, and research before going into a campground.
