Note to any with info: When "submit bid" is mentioned, what does that mean? In other words, is it a paid position that goes to low bidder that is qualified?

I am a former Host at EAFB (two years), and yes the host is paid a monthly stipend. Additionally, you may request a small laundry allowance. Hosts at EAFB are considered contract workers; the contract period there is 15 May through 15 October (you will be required to arrive a couple of days before, and can not leave until after contract expiration); you will receive a 1099 to be filed with your tax return. EAFB/USAF does not withhold taxes, that will be your responsibility. Work scheduling is left up to the host(s). EAFB is located just east of Rapid City, and is about 30 miles from Mount Rushmore. It is a beautiful area!

Good luck with your bids!

A nice campground if you've never been. Small, tight areas accessing, but plenty of site room as it's all on cul-de-sac. Woman that runs it now is a Rec Office worker and does a good job. Apparently, there were some problems for awhile, but she got it on track - Don't know that from personal experience, but just from scuttlebutt while we stayed there awhile.

It's a great area, very close to some fine attractions in Black Hills and Custer, Badlands ... etc.
