dual Step Replacement was created by a Guest
While in Elkhart Indiana a few weeks ago I purchased a "WFCO" Dual Electric Step to replace my single electric step. After we go home and I started the project the step went in with only having to drill two new 1/2" holes in the step to mount it. It appeared that it was operating backwards and after a couple of days checking around I found out that I needed to change out the "magnetic door switch". It appears that Quickie and WFCO (the WFCO step is a clone of the Quickie even to the color coded wireing) have change thier control box and the new steps require the magnetic door switch to be a Normally Open switch instead of a Normally Closed. After I purchased the N/O switch and installed it. It works perfect.
I say this so that anyone changing to a new step needs to keep this in mind. Hopefully it will save you a few days of head scratching and stress.
BTW, the new step was only $125.00 at RV Surpluss, they also have the required switch for $12.00.
