I have read on another forum the some folks are using two 6 volt batteries instead of a single 12 volt for their travel travel trailer. Is there and advantage to this setup?

I have six 6-volt batteries in my motorhome. Wired in parallel to provide 12-volts, then wired in series to triple the amperage.

The consensus is yes, if you have room for them. You can use deep cycle 6-volt batteries (golf cart batteries) wired in parallel. The plates in them are much thicker than a 12-volt system and will tolerate numerous discharging and charging better than 12-volt.airlifter wrote: I have read on another forum the some folks are using two 6 volt batteries instead of a single 12 volt for their travel travel trailer.
