When plugged into shore power will the engine battery be charged by the convertor or is it just the cabin batteries that get charged? I have a 1999 Winnebago Adventurer 34C and it has been plugged into shore power but when I went to start it tonight I had to use the cabin batteries to start the vehicle. Any suggestions?

My 2011 Class A Winnie does the same thing.

Normally, no. The house charger doesn't charge the coach batteries. It will just charge the house batteries.

In many of the newer motor homes, there may be a "trickle charger" or "battery minder" added that WILL keep the coach batteries charged. These will keep the coach batteries charged while on shore power.

My 2010 Tiffin Phaeton uses a "battery minder" to keep the coach batteries charged.

Thanks Larry,

good info. I took your suggestion and subscribed to the WK news. It is interesting and just makes me want to go even worse!

this is my third camper and it seems that whenever you own one, you are always trying to figure something out. Thanks for the reply; misery does love company
