let's get together and meet! It'd be nice to meet as many of you as possible and shoot the breeze. This (kind of) started last year when my wife (Connie) and I met up with fiatspider79 (Glenn) for breakfast, then later met his wife at the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall in Quartzsite, Arizona.
I'm open to suggestions and ideas, but I propose we meet for breakfast in Quartzsite, Arizona on January 23rd, 2008. I have a nice and affordable diner in mind, but the exact location can be firmed up later. Since this is still just a preliminary discussion, all firm details will be provided later.
Quartzsite, Arizona is a VERY unique RV spot in the Winter, especially January. TENS of THOUSANDS of RV's congregate in the Arizona desert for days to months. We usually spend about 6 weeks around Quartzsite in the desert (free). There's plenty of free (short-term 14 day) BLM boondocking locations, and plenty of long-term (low $$) BLM boondocking locations around. There are also plenty of RV parks available with FHU - just be sure you have a reservation for this time of year. There are a couple military campgrounds 90 miles South of Quartzsite near Yuma, AZ. During late January is a Sports, Vacation, & RV Show Big Tent Event in Quartzsite, with TONS of flea markets in the neighboring area. Do a Google search for "Quartzsite, AZ" and you'll learn plenty.
I hope you can join us for breakfast or you're welcome to come spend weeks with us in the sunny desert. We usually stay with a large group of RV'ers from the Escapee RV Club (Boomers BoF). Don't worry about the group - they're a fun loving group who welcome visitor's with open arms. It's a large desert with room for everyone.
