Define "Fulltiming"

I'm a full timer, my wife is not. Confused yet?

I've decided that full timing is a state of mind. We still own a stick house here in Oklahoma that she won't let me sell. So far, since we fully retired last July 1, we have spent approximately a total of 3 months here. We traded coaches this past November and have already put over 12,000 miles on it. Only reason we are "home" now is we have our bi-annual family reunion in June. After that it is out of here. The plan for the rest of the year is: June in "her" stick house in Oklahoma; July: South Dakota; August: back here for a couple of weeks; September-November: East Coast for Monaco rallies in Virginia and North Carolina and some more wandering around; December: back to Oklahoma to spend holidays with the grandkids.

She says as long as we have parents living in Oklahoma (her mother and both my parents, all in their late 80's) we'll keep a home base. My feeling is they both have yards big enough for me to park the rig. Haven't won that argument yet.

Personally, I think oldchief46 might have it good. We fulltime in our motor home (LOVING IT) and sold the sticks and bricks. But I wouldn't mind still having that house as an investment, as long as we kept good long-term renters. (I know, that's a dream).

nope, don't want no renters. Been there done that. Unless you are close by to watch over your property it is a tuff situation. Tried moving back into a house once that we had rented out. It was never the same even after I did all the repairs needed from the way the renters left it.

Our house just sits here while we are gone. Fortunately, we have a great neighbor that knows everything that goes on in the neighborhood and will call the police at the drop of a hat. But it still irks me each month when I go on line and pay the utilities bills on a house that no one is staying in. (You got to keep the heat on in the winter and a/c on in the summer. In Oklahoma the humidity in the summer will ruin your carpets if the a/c is not working. Also, in the summer the pool pump must be kept on all the time even though the only person using it is the kid from next door who also takes care of the lawn.)

No, if I had my way this house would already have been sold and we'd be living full time in a 36 foot, four slide Monaco Cayman. Well, actually we do except for about four months out of the year when she makes me stay in the stick house. ;)
