interactive maps

Just wondering is anyone knows of a site that has interactive maps that can be used to plot trips? Most of them have a point to point and some will allow for a new via point. The problem with them are that you need to have a good handle on where you plan to go and how to get there to begin with. I am thinking of maybe trying to just highlight areas to go and see how it connects all points?

This is an effort to plan for next year already.

I use Microsoft Streets and Trips. I read that it was being discontinued, so it may be too late. Google it and see if you can download it.

I downloaded and tried to install but it wont work. Tried to load maps also. They show up on the list for programs on install/uninstall, just wont load up! When I try get a pop up saying to uninstall as I have a prior install which this was the 1st so yes maybe they are finished after all?
