Route from West Point, NY to FL

Hoping for suggestions.

We will travel from West Point, NY to Jacksonsville, FL

We want to stay on the NC coast for a week or so.

This is what we want to avoid. NY city, Phili, Baltimore and DC.

We traveled 95 up to Maine and did not like the traffic in the areas mentioned.

Will be leaving this Thurs.

I-84 to I-81 and down to US-17. This will get you on I-95 south of Washington. We took this route a month ago and it has no problems. You can pick your own route to NC coast from I-95.

X2 with the route Ed suggested. Easy ride, plenty of places to stop. From West Point, just stay on 6 and 17 to Middleton, NY and you can hop right onto 84 there.

In North Carolina, you might want to try Onslow Beach and Fort Fisher. Both of them are really good military campgrounds. Fort Fisher has a little bit more to do in the immediate area than Onslow, and it's not too late for most things to be closed.

Thanks for the info. We have decided to go visit Quakertown, PA appears 87 will be the majority of route.

I87 to I287 to I78 is probably your best route. Might be some traffic depending on the time of day, but shouldn't be too bad. Have a safe trip!
