Who's the Boss?

Perhaps tongue in cheek, I have heard others refer to their DW as the boss of the house.

I am here to say that my wife is not in any way, shape, form, or fashion the boss. She is the Executive Officer. That means she has all the power and authority of the Commander; which, includes making decisions and telling others what to do. She is generally in charge of all plans, operations, and budget because the Commander doesn't want to be bothered.

If things go wrong, the Commander gets blamed or relieved, not the XO. Moral: You can still be in charge without being in the boss's hot seat. I'm wondering why I just now figured this out. :dry:

Astute observation, or trial and error ... either way, you're probably right.

Or, did you once simply pay the penalty for being mistaken ...
