Tri Care FOr Life.
I recently got my TRICARE renewal statement and it did not give me the option of paying for a full year like I have done in the past. Is that because some of the regions will be changing providers?

You said that the statement didn't give you the option to renew for a full year. You must be turning 65 during the year. If that is the case, then that is why you didn't get that option. Otherwise I would call tricare and ask them.If a retired service member should pass on before his wife will she still be able to continue health care coverage with TRICARE? With all the news going on with health care my wife asked me that question and I didn't know the answer.

That is the reason you didn't get the option to renew for a full year. Once you turn 65,you don't pay for TFL. You pay for Medicare instead.

Bill,
Now I'm confused. What payment are we talking about for TriCare? I've been on TriCare for awhile now and my wife has moved to TFL. I've never had to pay anything for TriCare. The wife does have to pay for Part B Medicare but we have never paid anything to TriCare. I should mention that we have always used TriCare Standard since I refuse to use an HMO type program that TriCare Prime required.
