I tried to make a reservation at Seabreeze and was told that 100% DAV are not allowed. I called twice and tried to explain eligibilty but was told only military, DOD and retired are allowed.
This site shows authorized users include 100% disabled veterans. I have never had a problem at any other military campground. Has anyone else run into this problem?

We must understand that this site, although the best one around, is NOT an official nor authorized web site for military campgrounds. Larry has done and continues to do an outstanding job of maintaining the site with great information that we can all use. If you read over the eligability of who can use the campgrounds at various bases (a link is posted on the home page) that is posted on this web site you will soon be as confused as most of the base commanders are. It all boils down to what the base commander decides that "he" wants to allow on "his" base. The Military RV, Camping & Outdoor Recreation booklet that is sold in every base exchange, although it also is not an "Official Publication" does not list 100% DAV as anelligable user. An email or other communication to the base commander of Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station may not solve this delima, however it may get them to thinking. Good Luck. It looks like a great RV Park and I can see why you would want to stay there.

This posting and news that you, as a 100% DAV, was refused to make a reservation bothered me. I contacted Marilou, the assistant manager at Seabreeze at Seal Beach, to get a clarification. The following is her response:

Larry,
Good morning. Yes, 100% DAVs are eligible customers here at Seabreeze. Please extend my apology to the customer who was trying to make the reservation. Do you know whom they spoke with? Our clerks should know that and I'll make sure that they are reminded of the policies. Again, I apologize. Please call or have them call me on my cell phone at 562-824-****. Thanks.

r/Marilou

I'll email you directly with her phone number. Please call her and let us know the outcome.

Seabreeze at Seal Beach is a very nice park, which I highly recommend.

Thank you Larry for contacting Seabreeze. I called again this morning and was told the same thing. I asked to speak to Marilou and she said I was eligible and transferred me back to make my reservation. I now have reservations for one week. Thank you again for this group and the support.
