Visited the Lake Martinez Resort today and the review in the campground section by LFAdmin is very accurate. However there have been some upgrades since that review was written. All the RV sites now have 50 amp service and concrete pads. And, you can now release your gray water every night. Still no dump station but there is one available just a mile down the road for a $3.00 fee per rig or blue boy dump. The restrooms are very clean and showers are large and clean. The manager can issue all sorts of fishing licenses and the required $3.00 river stamp if you are using a boat. This place is a fishermans paradise in the desert. Large mouth bass, huge catfish, stripers, crappie and pan fish galore, just to name the ones I covet. The Park models and cabins all have wonderful views and the RV sites back up to face the lake. It looks like and feels like a well kept fish camp.

p.s. A Tip: Site # 17 is prime if you want to reserve one in advance.

OK, we have spent about three weeks here at Lake Martinez Resort and we like it a lot. Most of the residents are long time returning campers. Some of them have been coming here for 20 plus years. The place is a little primitive, not a "resort" in the usual definition of the word. Most of the sites have concrete pads, not all, and they don't all have 50 amps either. There is a fishing/boating dock with rental boats/kayaks/canoes. Everything is clean and well kept. The on-site manager has been there more than 20 years and is a great guy, very laid back. Unlike some- the park at Travis AFB comes to mind. If you are looking for paved paths, ice cream socials and heated pools you won't like it, if you are looking for quiet laid back camping with great fishing and easy-going neighbors and pot luck dinners you have found a paradise in the desert. We will be back next winter!

Pretty isolated, with dirt and gravel roads. A long way from town. Was there last year.
