Fort Carson, CO Turkey Creek Rec Area

Several years ago, we stayed at Turkey Creek Rec Area, Dry Camping, with a group of campers. The staff at Turkey Creek stated they were going to make a Fam Camp there, but have not seen anything since. Has anyone else heard of this or do any of you have later status?

We visited Turkey Creek about 18 months ago. There was just dry camping then, spread out along a dirt road. They didn't have a "famcamp", RV Park, or any hookups. We were staying at the USAF Academy.

We were there in August 2007. Everything Larry said is still true. They only have five dry sites on a very dusty road.

Best place to stay in that area is at the Academy.

Drove thru it in August. Not impressed. We stayed at the AFA Famcamp.
