Gila Bend FAMCAMP

Anyone know how long the LAFB Auxiliary field Famcamp at Gila Bend is going to be out of service. Hoping to get a hosting job there before december.

I just received an email from them today. The contractor expects to be completed by October 31st, 2013. In the meantime, they are allowing dry-camping ONLY with a 7-day stay limit. The electric is being upgraded and repaired in ALL RV sites.

This is from Gila Bend:

The main campsite completely closed during construction, patrons will
be allowed to use a designated overflow area for up to 7 consecutive days.
This will allow campers to make other arrangements until construction is
completed. Please register at the Desert Hideaway Inn for details. During
construction, campground laundry facilities as well as RV dump station
facility will remain open and accessible.

We are currently staying at Agave Gulch in Tucson. A neighbor RVer is heading to Gila Bend today, he said he called them and the campground is finished with upgrades and opened back up.

Suggest a phone call to them if you wish to stop or stay. Maybe they will send Larry an update on this.

I just received "official" notice that the electrical upgrades have been completed at ALL sites. The RV Park is open again for business!
