Ft. Bliss, El Paso TX. Very well kept park, nice sites. Got there early and got a spot away from the freeway so wasn't noisy. Very convenient location. Leave before or after school starts if in season. Getting out could be hampered by school traffic.

Davis Monthan AFB Tucson AZ. Extremely nice park, great management. Free ice and free air for tires. Near commissary and BX. Apache Flats was full, but we drove there anyway to check it out. Beautiful location with mountain views, remote, peaceful location. It's 35 miles off the interstate so I would definitely call ahead.

Check out Balmorhea State Park TX if you're ever in that area. Beautiful park, nice sites and huge spring for swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving. An oasis in the desert!

Stayed at Yuma Proving Grounds Yuma AZ. Loved it. Very nice host. Level, gravel sites. 16 miles out of Yuma. Barricades at gate, honk horn and the guard will move them. Free ice, media room. Found out that they have been updating the park. Very nice. Would go back there.

San Onofre Rec. Area Camp Pendleton. Words and photos can't describe it. Back in site across from beach faced the ocean. Stayed 5 nights. Didn't want to leave. Checked out DelMar (which was booked up), but we prefer San Onofre. At DelMar the sites are on the sand. At San Onofre, our site was paved/gravel.
