Currently staying at Ft. Jackson's MWR Campground on Weston Lake. What a wonderful campground in a wooded area with lots of distance between campsites. There are 33 RV sites as well as tent pads and beautiful cabins overlooking the lake. RV campsites are $35 a night for FHU (30 & 50 amp Svc). The lake has been drained a bit for dam area repairs but the fish are biting (caught a nice Largemouth Bass yesterday). Camp staff and evening host are professional and personable. We came for a three night stay and changed it to a two week stay. There is no dog run/walk area but plenty of open space for walking/hiking and a doggie bag station is provided. RV pads are concrete though you might need some blocks to level your camper depending on your specific site. Fire rings and BBQ grills are provided at each site. Base Securty does make rounds through the campground for added peace of mind as the campground is a good distance from the main base area. The Army has a real jewel here and I highly recommend if your travels take you anywhere near Columbia SC that you make reservations. If you like peace and quiet, with the occasional small arms fire in the far distance (Army Bootcamp), this is the place for serious R&R.

Restaurants and shopping are a short 15/20 minute drive and the base PX is a good size and well stocked.
