Used to be "no one turned away".

Now, you must have a reservation to dry camp.

Anyone there now? We tried for two weeks to get a reservation for a week in January 2019 and the site says "no availability".
Called the office and the lady said the next availability is in March 2019! Hard to believe 400 spaces completely booked. So, what's the deal? We have been going there for decades and Trumbo has always had spots.

I've never been but really wanted to go this winter. I did the same as you in trying to get a spot with no luck. the best info I've found is on the Facebook page:

This may be a repeat reply. I tried to post earlier. I have read the MWR letter that was posted on Facebook. As a military retired, it seems that I can make reservations 180 days out. Not sure if this is still true. Additionally, by MWR allowing people to stay 180 days, it really slows down the turnover of available sites.
