We recently (last week) bought a small camping trailer and want to make our virgin voyage near home. We were thinking about the Corps of Engineers Lake Allatoona campground (NW of Atlanta), but heard that the Navy has a campground there as well. We don't, however, know anyone who has used the Navy campground. Has anyone been there? Can you provide a review?
Memories of a camping trip with the kids in the late 80's to Lake Sardis in MS when there was a USAF campground there make us a little leery of doing our test run at a military campground. Any help would be appreciated. (We haven't been camping since the mid 90s).
